WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 From A WIP ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my eleventh time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. And apparently I can’t count if you look at last week’s number…LOL! Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

I sit looking at him through slit eyes. I just couldn’t tell him yet I’d made the internal battle seem much worse than it actually was at the moment. The nanites I have at my disposal would eclipse anything Alvarez could now throw at me. I knew it was in my best interest not to let that fact be known to anyone. Even Xander.
While this man did all the programming to make my enhancements interface with my own biology quite well, he also inadvertently made them do one unexpected thing. In order for everything to be fully integrated, the enhancements, the nanites, my polymer structures, I had to teach myself to control them at the level where they interfaced with my biology. The fact this enabled me to do much more than they had ever imagined.

Again, this story has a little romance thought it is a science fiction novel that has more action. The heroine, Camden Jayde, was a soldier who met with an IED. She was then modified without her permission. The modifications done are both physical and genetic. Now she has nanotechnology flowing in her veins along with all the normal components in blood. The faction paying the bill modified her for the good of mankind but the military has other ideas. Those ideas serve no one but their own war mongering purpose. Her mission: save mankind, save the species and if luck holds, save the world. All she has to do is to accept.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my fifth time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

Xander looked at the creature he’d helped create. Creature was the wrong word because if one looked at her all they would see was a woman on the pretty side of ugly. Most of her scars were hidden as they’d managed to close skin thus avoiding all the normal pitfalls of skin grafts. Still most of those were on her back and as long as she wore clothes, they would remain hidden from view.
It was the internal scars he worried about. This whole business had left her less than reasonable at times, making her more than moody, irresponsible and a risk most people didn't want to deal with at all. She reminded him of a self-centered teenager who needed to grow up.

But they were running out of time and Camden Jayde was their only hope.

The novel is a sci-fi with romantic elements, It’s about a woman who was physically and genetically modified without her permission. Those modifications are extensive and include eyes, limbs and nanotechnology in the form of nanites flowing through her. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different and it’s not for the good of mankind.
Hope you enjoyed my Sunday 8. Please go check out the other WeWriWa authors this week, just click on the logo or paste this link into your browser and visit all the wonderful authors writing this weekend.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 Week 2 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi Everyone!

This is my second time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. I'm sharing my 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

A voice I hadn't heard before entered my field of hearing. I tried to lick my lips and found that I couldn't because there was no moisture available. The crowd parted and sitting where Alvarez normally sat was the prettiest man I had even seen in my life. I shook my head, pretty was the wrong word, handsome was the word for a man. "What -- it's -- it's like I'm becoming scrambled. The words -- the words -- the words don't match any more." I realized just how little control I had over this new technology. If I had been given full control I might be able to understand what was going on better.

This novel is a sci-fi with romantic elements and is about a woman who was modified without her permission. Her modifications are many, like limbs, eyes and nanites flowing through her body. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This is my first time ever with the Weekend Writing Warriors. I’m sharing my  8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

I can't remember the last time I cried. Maybe it was the day they told me I would die. Maybe it was the day they told me I would become something no person had ever been before. Maybe…maybe…I should just forget about the when and worry about the why. Or maybe I shouldn't as I'm sure they would analyze the whole notion of me crying until there was nothing left to analyze.
But right now, I look at them through pried open eyes while my chin is in my chest, watching their every move with my enhanced eyesight and wonder if they even know or understand just what they have created. I don't even think they know I'm watching them. I know they are nervous…maybe that's not quite the right word…paranoid would be a better word choice.

This novel is a sci-fi with romantic elements and is about a woman who was modified without her permission. Her modifications are many, like limbs, eyes and nanites flowing through her body. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different.
Hope you enjoyed my Sunday 8.
Thanks and see you next time!
