My Sexy Saturday ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #LynnCrain #MSSAuthors #Saturday7 #MSS110

Welcome to week 110th week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is One Sexy Boy. While I know that I have a lot of sexy boys who turn into sexy men in my stories, I have been working with one this past week who’s been around so long he hardly qualifies as a boy any more. Still, this very sexy man came from a very sexy boy somewhere along the way.

Don’t forget to visit Monday’s Austria Scoop and a Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Life columns this week. Last week I talked about a huge tile that fell from the outside of a building and the implications on my life. Then I also talked about Fear of Success on Tuesday. Something is always happening here and if you comment on any of the weekly columns, you might just win a $25 monthly Amazon gift certificate.

Now, I just recently used this story but I’ve been doing some edits on it and I can’t tell you how excited about this one. I love how it ebbs and flows, I love how the characters just mesh together from the sidekick to the boss to the heroine. They all just belong. Since there’s not blurb or logline yet, I’ll just describe the series in the words of Serenity Donovan, heroine xtraodinaire. Here’s what she had to say:

Ever wonder what's on the other side?

Well, don't. It's not necessarily the fantasyland most people imagine. It's more complicated than that. I should know, I visit more often than just about everyone.

The only difference is I live to tell the tale.

Then there’s Jasper. Oh, my, he’s the kind of guy a girl wants to bump pelvises with and never look back. There’s just one minor problem. He’s a ghost who’s still blamed for a 150 year old set of murders that he had nothing to do with.

So instead of him doing the deed and talking dirty to me, I have to prove him innocent. Then maybe – just maybe – he’ll give into those things he says he doesn’t feel.

Here’s my seven sexy paragraphs from my work-in-progress Angels and Demons from The JR Chronicles series:

“It’s never just sex.” He leaned in closer then pulled away. “I thought we’d both agreed.”
Licking my lips, I edged closer. “You agreed, I just listened. And drooled.”
“This isn’t a good idea.” His tongue flicked out to play with mine. “I won’t be able to stop myself.”
“That’s good for me.”
Jasper told me once that he’d never had feelings for a woman like he had me. From the moment he made himself known to me as a teenager, he’s been smitten but since he’d never been romantically involved with any live human, he didn’t think it possible. Then I started to toy with him and frustrated us both to no end. It was like two teenagers in heat who barely touched.
We’d been playing this game for ten years and detonation was bound to happen soon. Just as things were starting to get good, I found myself dumped on my ass as Jasper faded away.
“Maybe next time,” I whispered as I picked myself up, pulling on my blouse as I walked to the door. I was going to kill whoever rang the bell. Now it was an absolute given, the vibrator in my bedside stand would get a workout tonight.

My traditional ePublisher, eXtasy Books, is still having a sale on some of my books at their website. If you’ve never read any of my stories, today is the time to get them at a great discount and see if I write stories you might like. Don’t forget to pick up your copies!

My Christmas Extravaganza

We had a wonderful time at XtraOrdinary Romance on Wednesday. All I can say is wow! What a day! Lots of fun things happened there and I hope you can join in the fun sometime today.

We had almost 300 messages, some great talk and fantastic giveaways. But more than that...we had fun! You should come and join us.

Here's the schedule for Thursday, December 16, 2010:

9:00 am Free eBook - Fluke
11:00 am Free eBook - More Than Robotics
1:00 pm Free eBook - Shopping Spree

End of the day drawings start at 6:00 pm with names for all picked at 11:59 pm
     Gift Certificate from Borders books
Free goodie bag stuffed full of goodies
5 extra entries into the Cruz eReader drawing on Christmas day
     Surprise gift

Please note the changes. I'm doing all the eBook giveaways two hours apart and lumping all the drawings at the end of the day. This allows for more people to enter the giveaways and really spreads them out. Plus it seems to be working out for me as well. I get to spend time with you all in the morning then I spend dinner time with the family then it's back to you all. Tomorrow, this is good as I have to take my friend again to the doctors at about 2:30. Changing the schedule is the only way to doing it all. And heaven knows, I need to do it all...LOL!

I sure do hope you all are having fun and enjoying the Christmas Extravaganza. I appreciate all the support you have given me over the years and I hope to make your Christmas a little brighter. Hope you and your family are having a happy holiday season.

If you haven't joined the yahoogroup XtraOrdinary Romance, just email me at lynncrain@cox.net and I will send you a direct invite.

Hope to see you all at XtraOrdinary Romance throughout the day!

Again, may your holiday season be filled with love, laughter and joy.

Celebrating the 4th in My Home Town

Well, here in amazing Boulder City, we never celebrate the 4th on a Sunday except this year, they are doing the fireworks tonight.

However, everything else associated with the 4th happens yesterday. There is an annual parade that constantly has over one hundred entries every year. This year was no different but what was different is the fact they separated the water versus no-water portion of the parade. What that means is there is a section where chaos reigns and there is a section for the more dignified of the group. It seems that every year we had complaints about people getting wet who didn't want to and considering that at 10 am this place has been known to get a sweltering 100+ degrees, I don't know what their problem is as here wet clothes can be a lifesaver.

My DH and youngest went about twenty minutes before me because I had some last minute writing to do and once it was done, I was off and out of here. I arrived at the best part. It didn't take me long to find the DH as he's stood on the same corner almost every year for the last twenty. And I should have known. LOL! They were next to the people with the water cannons. So I walk over and he promptly tells me he can't get wet because he has his new work phone in his pocket. I quickly reminded him that he was standing in the wet zone, which he knew. The youngest also had something in his pocket, which he didn't get wet. I just laughed because if that were the case, they picked the worse corner ever.

Boy, was I ever right! LOL! The cart designating the two sections of the parade went by and chaos ensued as the water started to rain down on us from every direction. I can remember the fun we had as kids at the park with silly string and confetti eggs. All our friends gathered from school and we had a great time. Even today, all high school reunions are centered around the 4th. Each class will stake their claim in the park and have some sort of entry into the parade. All in all, it’s a great family time.

Tonight we have a bunch of firsts. My twin grandsons will be attending their first fireworks show. I’m hoping the noise won’t scare them too much. I know they will be interested in the actual show, as they always love to see what’s above them. It was discovered today that Joseph is teething so that might give us a little headache. Still, I can’t wait to see what fun we’ll have. The other first is for our puppy. We’ve only had him since September and while he has had a 4th before it wasn’t with us and he’s freaked about the firework noise. We might just take him with us so he won’t be so scared. We’re not sure yet.

One of the best 4th of July’s I’ve ever attended was in Scotland. Yes, Scotland, as we did our own special celebration. Our oldest called us during the fireworks and we celebrated with him. But we did the annual barbeque and sat on the porch at the farm looking out over the fields. It was a wonderful day especially when Henry came a shot off a few fireworks just for us. It was grand!

I also can’t forget what this day means. Two hundred and thirty four years ago, special men signed a piece of paper, which decreed we were free from the bonds placed upon by the king. We were free to make our own decision, free to live our lives as we deem fit. As we all know, freedom isn’t free and the cost is high. I send my heartfelt thanks to each and everyone insuring I get to participate in all the fun of the day. Know I am thinking about you all as I look up to see the red, white and blue of the flag and the fireworks.

I am hoping your 4th is as wonderful as ours has been so far. What do you all do special for the 4th?

See you all tomorrow!

The Winners Are...

Today we’re celebrating...not only is it almost July 4...but in just two days I will have done my blog for thirty consecutive days. Now this may not be a milestone to you but it is for me. I know we’ve talked about my squirrel moments and it’s sad when I have more than two a day. Some days are worse than others and the closer I get, the more I want to scream squirrel. LOL!

But today there is something more than me and my squirrel moments. Today is the day I announce the winners to my first monthly contest. I’ve read all the comments, processed all the numbers and had the DH randomly pick a number from my total number of commenters. First of all, I want to thank you. This is the first month where I had a total of 81 unique comments. This is a great day!

You never know if a blog is going to strike a chord with readers and while it’s not a huge number, it’s great for me. Thanks yet again!

Now on to the important stuff...drum roll please...the winner of my first monthly blog contest is Author Guy! You will receive a $20 gift certificate to ARe and your choice of book from my backlist. The person who posted the most comments is Carol L! You get a special prize packet to be sent to you and a book from my backlist. Thanks again to everyone who commented. Next month will be even better...promise!

Winners please email me privately at lynncrain@cox.net and we’ll work out the details.

Onward to today’s quote:

Loafing is the most productive part of a writer's life. ~James Norman Hall

That’s a lot of what I’m going to be doing today. See, I finished the book I was working on and today is my recuperation day. Yippee!! No, I haven’t told anyone but my editor about this book and the moment I know more, the moment I’ll tell you.

The thing I can say...it’s in my favorite genre...so you tell me.

See you tomorrow!
