I'm back again with my WIP Unlikely Paradise and a second round of Six Sentence Sunday. Last week I introduced you to the heroine, Zextra Harrison. Today, I introduce you to the hero, Kemper Green. Enjoy!
Kemper Green felt every one of his thirty-eight years the
night they’d thrown him on the transport for reassignment to the paradise
planet called Bliss 4521. He’d known the risks of helping the poor and others
at the hidden clinic in the shantytown near the spaceport. He knew and didn’t
care because he was an old-fashioned type of doctor who believed in the
Hippocratic Oath.
Little good
it did him as he’d ended up in a place far worse than where he’d started. This town
had a nefarious undercurrent of pure evil even though the corps tried to
convince him otherwise. He understood the powers that be had more money than
God himself and today wealth spoke more than any honor bound tradition in place
for thousands of years.
