Your Sexy State of Mind ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSSAuthors #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 62nd week of My Sexy Saturday. This week all we got was the meme but nothing else on the theme. So the snippet this time is supposed to be all about your sexy state of mind. Hmmm…a little difficult for some…but I think that I’ve got a pretty good grasp of it. Sexy is all about one’s state of mind. It has little to do with looks or what one has. It took me a while since many of my heroines know they are sexy and there are definitely times when that comes into play.

First, a little bit about my week here in the capital of Austria. The weather was pretty good and I’m thankful for it. It only rained one day and since we had visitors here from the States, it was important to be able to meander the streets of this place. My in-laws, who are both in their eighties, yes that’s right 80s, decided to visit us after a river cruise in Portugal. They arrived and we were off. We went to places we hadn’t been to at all around Vienna and I’m glad we did as it appears the last of summer may be behind us. They went home yesterday and we decided to rest today as the week was busy, busy, busy.

The Longmire campaign is still going on. So if you can find it in you to support it, please do. Let’s show the networks that those over 45 count and our voices can be heard. Even if you aren’t in that age group and are younger than 45, this show is one of the best out there and it was cut off at the knees. Not fair to any of us. Again, hashtag is #LongLiveLongmire and if you just check it out, on both Facebook and Twitter, you’ll see what the posse has been up to this week.

Today, we’re talking about your sexy state of mind. I had a little trouble picking out just one snippet for the excerpt this week as all my characters generally have their minds in a sexy state. Yeah, they think about it a lot and it’s almost as much as they think about their significant other. But the story that came to mind was one that came out last year called The Taking of An Apprentice. It’s a fantasy romance from eXtasy Books and I so loved writing it. So much that I’m seriously thinking about a series set in contemporary times concerning these two characters. Yeah, they were that much fun.

This particular story is part of the Tarot series at eXtasy Books. There are a lot of great books in it and you should check them out when you can. Here’s the setup for The Taking of An Apprentice.

In a time where magic is shunned, Oma and Cayden must defend the world from an ancient evil that tries to destroy all.
Oma Weir is a hermit by her own making. After her husband died, she was determined to need no one and nothing. However, fate has set a different path for the woman, and when Cayden Quirie shows up at her door, she knows the path she has dreamt is before her. Unfortunately, that path will lead to death and destruction, something every magic wielder tries to avoid. Love.

At least, love is something a sorceress in her time will try to avoid. As we all know, love is so important to everything one does. The story is based upon the Hermit tarot card and I’ve tried to incorporate many of the traits found in those who choose to live their lives alone. But alone is never fun and having an apprentice to teach can be so worthwhile. Enjoy today’s seven. Happy reading!

“This, Mistress.” The young man stepped closer to her. She raised her gaze, noticing his eyes held sparkles from the midnight sky. He smelled all male, sweat and heat, wrapped into one. His hands went around her head, thumbs lifting her chin even more. Her breath caught. This was the way Balin had won her heart. Leaning in, his lips took hers, gently sucking the bottom one before fully sweeping in and taking possession.
Her heart blossomed with equal amounts of joy and sorrow. It had begun.
Oma allowed herself a few minutes of bliss as his mouth devoured hers before she shoved him away. “What are you doing?”
“What do you think I am doing?” he whispered into her hair. “I know I am not much, but I am what your husband chose.”
She bristled at the thought that Balin had the right to choose anything for her, as he was dead. She gave him another brief moment before she thoroughly pushed him away. “Do not make me do something we will both regret.”
“How can fulfilling one’s needs be regretful?” He stood close, hands at his side, his midnight blue eyes gazing at her.
She stared at him, then turned and opened the pantry door. “We need to store these supplies before they spoil. Then, maybe, we will talk about your future.”
