Welcome to week 78th week of My Sexy Saturday. The
week’s theme is My Sexy Date. This week
will be short and sweet since I have a horrible head cold. I’m trying to
recover but with the cold outside, I’ve discovered I’m totally housebound for a
few days as the less than freezing temps have a negative effect on my throat.
Still, it took me a while to find a book where my characters actually date.
Most of the time, they are thrown into their situations and come together as a
result of those situations. Some of them have had prior knowledge of each other
but most of them haven’t gone out on a date. I did manage to find something I
think you’ll enjoy.
My multi-day post on my Facebook author page where
I tell you five things about myself is still going because I haven’t posted the
last day. I should have made it a weekly thing, yeah, weeklies I can do but
daily sometimes isn’t doable. I should have put that in the five things. I do
remember saying I have to write everything down and obviously, I missed that
last day. I will rectify that tomorrow when I put up the last post. And the
giveaway for the $25 Amazon gift card is still in place. I will be giving that
away.
The weather in Austria looks
beautiful but it is very, very cold and therefore I’m having an inside day. The
head cold is just so draining and I want to be at my best when the week starts.
Lots of things to do for writing and just my life in general. There was a
second protest that happened last week and it was a little more intense. They
took out anything in the park that could be used as a weapon meaning no
benches, chairs or trash cans. It was rather odd looking. It remained
relatively calm because those on the haters side decided to stay home. Guess it
was too cold for them. Let’s hope, Austria settles down for a bit here.
My new weekly column, My
Writing Life, that was supposed this week on Tuesday, didn’t because I hadn’t
written it down and I wasn’t feeling too hot. Also, I was waiting for my family
to receive their packages this week. I was anxious anyway and probably would
have told you just how neurotic I was then and not something relevant to my
writing life. Wait…a neurotic moment is probably relevant to my writing life…I
promise not to be so short sighted next time. Look for it this week. Promise.
This week I am sharing something
I’ve shared a few times but I never get enough of. I should really be writing
science fiction or fantasy romance all the time. It flows so naturally and is
something I really, really love. This is book 1 of my Girls Night Out series
and it all starts with a girls date. You know the kind, where you get all your
girlfriends and do something really decanident. You go out and have fun.
Sometimes it ends great, sometimes it ends bad and sometimes it ends just
right. In this woman’s case, it’s somewhere in between all the good, the bad
and the ugly. I know what the second book is all about but it’s still in the
planning stages and I’m hoping that some friends will also be writing stories
in this world though their stories will be more contemporary in nature. I hope
you like this glimpse into the world of Sky Nerezsh, who is The Harvester.
Here’s the setup:
Princess Sky
Xera Nerezsh came to earth to avoid the normal succession to the throne. Being
the oldest daughter, she will be required to murder her mother in order to
secure her path to power. Sky loves her mother and refuses this way, choosing
instead to disappear in the vast reaches of space. When her past collides with
her present, she has to think quick on her feet, claim two men and a whole
planet just to avoid the inevitable: a meeting with her mother. Along the way,
she discovers true love and a burning need to be there for them always. Now if
the other Harvesters can just keep to themselves, they’ll have no problems. But
who said true love was ever easy.
Science fiction has always
been my first love. The very first story I completed was about a woman who lost
her memory while on a space ship. That story turned into the first book in the
Orchid series from eXtasy
Books and it’s in the list below
as one of my books they are having a sale on. I took that love for science
fiction and twisted it a little to come up with this story because it’s all
about family intrigue, roaming the galaxy and finding the one you love. And to
think, it all started with a girls night out. Enjoy the snippet!
“You taste good,” she murmured before pressing her lips to his.
Their tongues warred for supremacy over the other and when she pulled back she
was shaken to the bone. No one had ever made her feel this way. Jaxon’s hands
slid around to cup her breasts and she knew if she allowed them to touch her
any more, they would need to find a bed and fast. Lifting her hand, she pulled
his face to her neck, feeling his tongue snake out and lick the pulse beating
there.
“Jaxon...we only have a few seconds.” Zane’s voice cut through
her mental haze.
Suddenly, the music blared and they were gone. She opened her
eyes to see them going on stage apparently to perform. It didn’t matter as she
succeeded in successfully tagging them. Sky smiled to herself. Men everywhere
were just the same. Give them a little bit of ass and they came running. Still,
these two made her feel something she hadn’t felt in all the years working for
her mother. It was as if – no, she wouldn’t let herself over think this
situation. She would do what she needed to save this world then leave those two
no matter how she felt.
She gave another glance toward the two performing on stage to a
tune she felt appropriate as some of the words were ‘Princes of the Universe.’
These two could definitely be princes somewhere but probably not in her sector
of the universe. That portion was reserved for the women calling the shots and
being in charge. Sky didn’t know how many times she wanted to laugh when earth
born would call her Xena as there were some distinct differences. The woman was
way too nice in her opinion.
Sky tried to be as inconspicuous as possible going back down the
stairs. She needed to get to her ship and do some prep work before she brought
aboard any passengers. That was all she really expected them to be for the
short time they were with her. She knew if she didn’t take them with her while
filing her claim, Jesata would tag them. It could take her years to get them
back and by that time they would be broken or worse. She witnessed the things
people did to their slaves and women were by far the worse.
Maybe it had to do with man’s previous domination over females,
which made the brothel owners hatred run deep of the male species. She heard
some horrible things that happened to women on this planet but for the most
part they were cherished and revered by the men of this world. But sometimes,
men went berserk and then chaos ensued. Nothing controlled the chaos of a man’s
mind once he went off the deep end. If these two had the chance to explore the
universe maybe they wouldn’t go crazy as many on this rock had.
Sky edged back along the wall, cautious as she didn’t want to
see Jesata at all before she went to her ship. She needed to call Avery before
she went and make some excuse. Since she had been an exemplary employee who had
never called in sick once nor ever had a family emergency, she felt no qualms
about asking for time off. If the man knew she planned to save their way of
life, she felt sure there would be no problem but is wasn’t something she could
explain to him with truth.
