Our Sexy Date ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSSAuthors #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 78th week of My Sexy Saturday. The week’s theme is My Sexy Date.  This week will be short and sweet since I have a horrible head cold. I’m trying to recover but with the cold outside, I’ve discovered I’m totally housebound for a few days as the less than freezing temps have a negative effect on my throat. Still, it took me a while to find a book where my characters actually date. Most of the time, they are thrown into their situations and come together as a result of those situations. Some of them have had prior knowledge of each other but most of them haven’t gone out on a date. I did manage to find something I think you’ll enjoy.

My multi-day post on my Facebook author page where I tell you five things about myself is still going because I haven’t posted the last day. I should have made it a weekly thing, yeah, weeklies I can do but daily sometimes isn’t doable. I should have put that in the five things. I do remember saying I have to write everything down and obviously, I missed that last day. I will rectify that tomorrow when I put up the last post. And the giveaway for the $25 Amazon gift card is still in place. I will be giving that away.

The weather in Austria looks beautiful but it is very, very cold and therefore I’m having an inside day. The head cold is just so draining and I want to be at my best when the week starts. Lots of things to do for writing and just my life in general. There was a second protest that happened last week and it was a little more intense. They took out anything in the park that could be used as a weapon meaning no benches, chairs or trash cans. It was rather odd looking. It remained relatively calm because those on the haters side decided to stay home. Guess it was too cold for them. Let’s hope, Austria settles down for a bit here.

My new weekly column, My Writing Life, that was supposed this week on Tuesday, didn’t because I hadn’t written it down and I wasn’t feeling too hot. Also, I was waiting for my family to receive their packages this week. I was anxious anyway and probably would have told you just how neurotic I was then and not something relevant to my writing life. Wait…a neurotic moment is probably relevant to my writing life…I promise not to be so short sighted next time. Look for it this week. Promise.

This week I am sharing something I’ve shared a few times but I never get enough of. I should really be writing science fiction or fantasy romance all the time. It flows so naturally and is something I really, really love. This is book 1 of my Girls Night Out series and it all starts with a girls date. You know the kind, where you get all your girlfriends and do something really decanident. You go out and have fun. Sometimes it ends great, sometimes it ends bad and sometimes it ends just right. In this woman’s case, it’s somewhere in between all the good, the bad and the ugly. I know what the second book is all about but it’s still in the planning stages and I’m hoping that some friends will also be writing stories in this world though their stories will be more contemporary in nature. I hope you like this glimpse into the world of Sky Nerezsh, who is The Harvester. Here’s the setup:

Princess Sky Xera Nerezsh came to earth to avoid the normal succession to the throne. Being the oldest daughter, she will be required to murder her mother in order to secure her path to power. Sky loves her mother and refuses this way, choosing instead to disappear in the vast reaches of space. When her past collides with her present, she has to think quick on her feet, claim two men and a whole planet just to avoid the inevitable: a meeting with her mother. Along the way, she discovers true love and a burning need to be there for them always. Now if the other Harvesters can just keep to themselves, they’ll have no problems. But who said true love was ever easy.

Science fiction has always been my first love. The very first story I completed was about a woman who lost her memory while on a space ship. That story turned into the first book in the Orchid series from eXtasy Books and it’s in the list below as one of my books they are having a sale on. I took that love for science fiction and twisted it a little to come up with this story because it’s all about family intrigue, roaming the galaxy and finding the one you love. And to think, it all started with a girls night out. Enjoy the snippet!

“You taste good,” she murmured before pressing her lips to his. Their tongues warred for supremacy over the other and when she pulled back she was shaken to the bone. No one had ever made her feel this way. Jaxon’s hands slid around to cup her breasts and she knew if she allowed them to touch her any more, they would need to find a bed and fast. Lifting her hand, she pulled his face to her neck, feeling his tongue snake out and lick the pulse beating there.
“Jaxon...we only have a few seconds.” Zane’s voice cut through her mental haze.
Suddenly, the music blared and they were gone. She opened her eyes to see them going on stage apparently to perform. It didn’t matter as she succeeded in successfully tagging them. Sky smiled to herself. Men everywhere were just the same. Give them a little bit of ass and they came running. Still, these two made her feel something she hadn’t felt in all the years working for her mother. It was as if – no, she wouldn’t let herself over think this situation. She would do what she needed to save this world then leave those two no matter how she felt.
She gave another glance toward the two performing on stage to a tune she felt appropriate as some of the words were ‘Princes of the Universe.’ These two could definitely be princes somewhere but probably not in her sector of the universe. That portion was reserved for the women calling the shots and being in charge. Sky didn’t know how many times she wanted to laugh when earth born would call her Xena as there were some distinct differences. The woman was way too nice in her opinion.
Sky tried to be as inconspicuous as possible going back down the stairs. She needed to get to her ship and do some prep work before she brought aboard any passengers. That was all she really expected them to be for the short time they were with her. She knew if she didn’t take them with her while filing her claim, Jesata would tag them. It could take her years to get them back and by that time they would be broken or worse. She witnessed the things people did to their slaves and women were by far the worse.
Maybe it had to do with man’s previous domination over females, which made the brothel owners hatred run deep of the male species. She heard some horrible things that happened to women on this planet but for the most part they were cherished and revered by the men of this world. But sometimes, men went berserk and then chaos ensued. Nothing controlled the chaos of a man’s mind once he went off the deep end. If these two had the chance to explore the universe maybe they wouldn’t go crazy as many on this rock had.
Sky edged back along the wall, cautious as she didn’t want to see Jesata at all before she went to her ship. She needed to call Avery before she went and make some excuse. Since she had been an exemplary employee who had never called in sick once nor ever had a family emergency, she felt no qualms about asking for time off. If the man knew she planned to save their way of life, she felt sure there would be no problem but is wasn’t something she could explain to him with truth.

You're So Sexy ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSSAuthors #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 76th week of My Sexy Saturday. The week’s theme is You’re So Sexy and these are the ones who are so sexy they jump off the page at you. Again, they aren’t pretentious but have a matter-of-fact way about them that makes them sexy. At least that’s my interpretation of the theme this week. And it’s one of the things I love about this blog hop. Everyone gets to share their own idea of sexy.

This last week proved more challenging than most. As many of you know, my father passed away last year and I’ve had a terrible time keeping my concentration on my writing. Well, one more thing has come to pass as it looks as if we’ve finalized his estate with the sale of the property I owned jointly with him. Once that is completed, as much as it pains me to say this, I will need to move on from that loss. Grieving is different for each of us and mine has taken much longer than expected as I step completely into the role of being the matriarch of my family. This has many implications that I’m sure I’ll discuss at a later time.

As promised, I started a multi-day post on my Facebook author page where I tell you five things about myself that aren’t necessarily common knowledge. I started that yesterday and on the day after those are over, which will be next Wednesday, I will be doing a giveaway. Not sure exactly what I’m giving away but I will give at least a choice of two items. So, if you can drop by, please do so…I’d really appreciate it!

This past week Austria has been very pleasant weather wise. The temperatures kept to the thirties and forties all week. There was an occasional cold wind that made life difficult but other than that, it was nice overall. However, the number of gray days are rising and as I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I understand why people get depressed during the winter months here. I can’t imagine living somewhere that the sun doesn’t shine nearly every day. My home town in Nevada had a bar that would serve beer free on any days the sun didn’t shine because they were confident that it would be shining 97% of the time. And it did. But snow is in the forecast…so I’ll keep you posted…here’s hoping that the ski resorts here get what they need to be successful this year!

My new weekly column, My Writing Life, will be starting this week on Tuesday and I’ll be talking about why spreadsheets are personally important to me. There will be other tidbits about my life as well because as we all know, it’s not all about writing. There are moments when that doesn’t even enter the picture. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy that new column.

This is the last week I’ll be sharing sexy seven paragraphs from my new Captive Illusions story, Merrick and Jenna. As previously mentioned, the series is all about a woman’s deep, dark fantasies. These characters hijacked this book and started making it their own, which delighted and surprised me all the same time. Jenna is blown away by the sexiness of Merrick, another one who doesn’t realize just the effect he has one a woman. As of today, this book is still only 28% complete and I apologize about not putting up my word count in my sidebar yet…that’s on the list for this week and the list is long…LOL! It will be published by my traditional epublisher, eXtasy Books, hopefully sometime this year. I’ll keep you posted on when. Here’s the setup:

Merrick never expected to be part of his brother, Iain’s wild sexual games.  Once it is over, he realizes he wants to find what Iain has found…his soul mate. When he meets Jenna, he’s afraid she is the one.  But she certainly isn’t what he expected. She’s a hunter or so he thinks. But how can someone so innocent belong to a group as cold as the Hunters?

Jenna cannot believe her eyes when she sees Merrick…talk, dark and brooding…and everything she’s ever wanted in a man. There’s just one problem. He’s an immortal and her family hunts immortals. But he holds the key to her deepest, darkest fantasies. And the more she’s with him, the more she realizes her father has deceived her. But is she ready to give up everything she knows for an uncertain future?

This series is very interesting to write because while they are all about finding one’s soulmate, they are also a menage series and talk about a woman’s darkest fantasies. I love writing this because it is very different from what I normally write. Hopefully, you’ll find this snippet compelling enough to pick up the first in the series, Captive Illusions: Iain and Kelsey at eXtasy Books. Enjoy this exclusive snippet from the coming soon 2nd book in the series, Merrick and Jenna.

Jenna jerked awake to find herself blindfolded and tied to what felt like a high back chair. Silently, she pulled on her arms to test the bonds. They held fast. The same silken ropes held her legs apart. She wished she could rub her head because she knew her situation and it wasn’t good. She sat buck naked, tied to a chair, somewhere in the desert with a man she hardly knew.
She didn’t know whether to cringe in fear or anticipation. All she knew was that she had been brought here against her will. Sighing to herself, Jenna realized that wasn’t quite true. From the moment she saw Merrick, she volunteered for every reconnaissance assignment she could and a few more she probably shouldn’t have. If she had been thinking straight around him, she would have known to stay away. This was the man who she should hate yet this was the man that she yearned for with a passion she couldn’t understand or fathom.
She stretched her neck and tried to block out the memories from last night. Had it only been last night when she was brought here? Jenna thought it might be but without any idea of time, she couldn’t be sure. It was amazing how one lost track of everything when a person couldn’t see. She supposed that her other senses would take over eventually.
Her mind wandered back to the last thing she did see before leaving the vicinity of the club and it hadn’t been a pretty picture. Or at least she had been told it hadn’t. The moon had been rising when they left via the tunnels hidden underneath the small desert building. When they emerged about a half a mile down the road, Merrick started to change immediately. But before he did, he told her in exacting detail what her spying had wrought upon the pack. By that time, she had been bound to him and couldn’t get away no matter how hard she tried.
At first, she was terrified that he was going to kill her. He was a huge man and a huge wolf, both strong enough to take her slight weight anywhere he wanted. Instructing her to get on his back before the change was complete, he had run for hours with her eventually coming to this hacienda. Once inside, they began a wary dance around each other until Merrick had returned to a man, naked and fully aroused in his glory. She had never seen a naked man so large in every way. For that matter, she had seen very few naked men and none compared to him. It was then he had ripped off her clothes and tied her up to this chair, leaving her to cool off for what had apparently been hours.
Jenna swallowed hard. True, she had fantasized about being kidnapped by one of the pack and held captive but this was not in her dream. In her dreams, she had had more control over the situation and here she had no control. Still, she wondered what it would be like to be made love to by an immortal. If one could call it love.
Sex, that’s all it would be, she thought to herself. Pure, unadulterated sex. She had listened to the stories the women told each other when they thought she wasn’t listening. She wanted to experience the total ecstasy like they had felt when having sex with an immortal man. If their stories were true, sex was wild and wet and oh, so hot. But then again, maybe it wasn’t because when they talked to their men or her father, their stories totally changed. No woman of the clan was allowed to enjoy sex at all especially with an immortal. Being with an immortal in any way was tantamount to a fatal sin. At least that’s what she was to understand about sex. She often wondered what the point of sex was if not to enjoy one’s mate.

This book is will be available from my traditional publisher, eXtasy Books, who is currently having a $0.99 sale on some of my books. And what’s even more wonderful is that book 1 in the series is currently one of the books on sale. I'm So Sexy ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSSAuthors #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 75th week of My Sexy Saturday. The week’s theme is I’m So Sexy but it isn’t about those pretentions flops who think they are God’s gift to the world. It’s about those who don’t know they’re sexy. Like the girl or boy next door. Those characters are the special kind of sexy and exude it but don’t necessarily know they do.

We’re into our third week of 2015 and I’ve made quite a few changes to things I’m doing. First, I’m getting more organized so that I can do more for you, my readers and fans, over the coming year. After all, as much as this is all about me, the truth of the matter is that really this is all for you, dear readers and fans. Without you, there wouldn’t be a me at all and I understand this with all my heart.

This year is going to be all about you and what I can be doing for you. Check out my Facebook author page to see what I’m giving away for Christmas. The announcement of a single winner will be made tomorrow. If you’re wondering why so late, the problem is that people didn’t comment at all. If you don’t comment, you can’t win. So if you haven’t commented, do so quickly and you’ll be in the drawing for some fabulous gifts. And yes, I’ll ship anywhere in the world. Good luck.

This week in Austria has been another weird one. Temperatures have been all over the place from hot to cold to blustery winds. Today as I look out my window, it’s a very gray day. Rain was initially in the forecast but that has changed to snow flurries late tonight. Right now, one living here doesn’t know if we’re supposed to wear our long johns or our bikinis. Seriously. But all laughing aside, NOAA determined that last year was the hottest year on record since they had started keeping records. Pretty scary if you ask me.

One of the things I did this week was to organize all my writing projects for the year. And that included the revision portions of them as well. So far, there are thirteen books to start or finish and five to revise. I was lucky enough to finally find a great spreadsheet that will allow me to track up to 8 projects per spreadsheet for a year. I’ll be writing more about that in my new weekly column called My Writing Life. I figure it’s about time for you all to get a glimpse into my life. Yeah, it’s not all limos and tiaras, let me assure you.

This week, I’m sharing sexy seven paragraphs from a new story in my Captive Illusions series, Merrick and Jenna. The series is all about a woman’s deep, dark fantasies, so imagine my surprise when the characters hijacked this book and started making it their own. Jenna is one of those girls who is very sexy and doesn’t know it. But Merrick knows it very well and he’s going to teach her just what she does to him. Right now, this books is 28% complete and you’ll start to see my WIPs in my sidebar this week. It will be published by my traditional epublisher, eXtasy Books sometime this year. I’ll keep you posted on when. Here’s the setup:

Merrick never expected to be part of his brother, Iain’s wild sexual games.  Once it is over, he realizes he wants to find what Iain has found…his soul mate. She felt his hands at the back of her head. Soon the silken scarf was around her neck as she raised her gaze to stare into the bluest eyes she had ever seen. Her breath quickened as those eyes watched her intently. “Why are you staring at me?” she questioned softly.
“You’re beautiful,” he answered without hesitation. “And I’d like to hear your explanation of why I should kill a beautiful woman.”
Jenna felt the heat in her cheeks. She had wanted to hear those words from someone for so long and here, a sworn enemy, told her the very thing she needed to hear. “Thank you.”
“You’re very welcome.” He ran his fingers along her bare body in a straight line, paying special attention to her breasts and legs. Kneeling in front of her between her legs, he ran his hands along her inner thighs. “But you still haven’t told me why you think I’m going to kill you.”
She licked her lips slowly. “I betrayed you and your clan.”
“Hardly. If it hadn’t been you it would have been someone else,” he practically purred in her ear. “What I really want to know is all your sexual fantasies. All of them.” He pulled the scarf off her face and looked at her as if judging what her reply would be.
Her heartbeat went up a notch. “Why?”
