My Sexy Saturday ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #MSSAuthors #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 103rd week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is A Very Sexy Time. Once again, I feel that all my stories have some very sexy times in them. However, I think this one has a very unusual setting for a very sexy time. The scene I’ll be sharing today takes place in a barn. Not just any barn but one from the 1880s. Some reminders first…

Don’t forget, my blog is always hopping with Monday’s Austria Scoop where I talk about Austria and Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Life where I talk writing and life. Both can be incredibly boring or incredibly exciting. Some weeks it’s a little bit of both. Last week I talked about an Austrian wedding for the Austria Scoop and somehow, My So-Called Writing Life post never showed. I had apparently scheduled it for this week. I really shouldn’t work when I have a headache…but check out the blog as I might just cover that.

Today’s story is one that has a very special place in my heart. I know you all are tired of hearing just how much I love Scotland. I do and really wish I could live there. This story has won awards and is just an all-around great story about a woman doctor whose husband is haunting her to move on with her life. Here’s the setup:

Maggie Grey had wanted to be a doctor all her life. She achieved her dream along with her husband, Justin. Together they planned to build a clinic on his ancestral home on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. But women doctors in the year 1882 didn’t have many options and even fewer if they were widowed like she had been recently. Arriving in England to visit Elizabeth Blackwell, founder of the London Medical School for Woman, she is discouraged to find that the only real health care on the remote Isle of Skye will be herself, a few aging doctors as well as veterinary doctors.

But she must build a clinic there to escape her memories and fulfill her late husband’s dream. Maggie goes by train and boat to the rather bleak Isle of Skye. The island is almost as barren as she feels and she isn’t sure if she can even fit in. Add the fact that her dead husband is haunting her with the request for her to fall in love again and she knows she’s losing her mind.

But the people of Skye need her…and she is determined not to let them down...but they are slow to accept a widowed woman doctor. Now if she were married again…that would be a different matter…and her dead husband, Justin, knows just the right man for the job, Conall MacGryman, his childhood friend and cousin, a veterinary for the island. Now all Justin has to do is to convince Maggie to give the man a chance so she can fall in love again…for both their sakes.

Here’s my seven sexy paragraphs from The Haunting of Maggie Grey:

“Fine.” His hands shook from the cold and his fingers clumsy as he tried to undo the buttons.
Shaking her head, Maggie pushed his frozen fingers out of the way and undid each one as if it were a seductive dance. With the last one free, she walked around him and, standing on tiptoes, eased the heavy coat from his shoulders. Placing it next to hers on the cow pen, she turned, surprised to find he was right behind her. She leaned heavily into the wood, trying to still her fast beating heart.
* * * *
“Maggie,” the seductive whisper of her name brought her soft brown eyes to glance quickly at him. “Do not turn away from me, girl.” His hand curled completely around her head, filing his palm as if she were a small child, holding her where he wanted. He was so large and she was so small. Never had he felt like he held a fine piece of fragile porcelain. Winding his fingers into the silk of her hair, he slowly, he forced her to face him, gazing deeply in her brown eyes. “I am going to kiss yeu now.”
He lowered his lips to hers, devouring her bottom lip in one swoop. Nibbling at the edges, he gained access to her mouth and groaned. Conall did not want to scare her off. But he needed her in the worst way and he was sure if she would just press herself against him, she would feel his hard shaft, would know his body wanted her much in the same way he was sure she wanted him. They had danced around each other for two months, but the woman acted like a virgin instead of the widow he knew her to be. The deep red color of her hair should indicate her passion ran hot instead of the shyness she displayed with him on many occasions.
“Open up completely, girl,” he whispered even more seductively than the first time as he softened his mouth to stroke against her soft lips. He was surprised when it took little prompting on his part to get her to open her mouth as his tongue slid in.
Neither of them was naive as to what happened between a man and a woman. He had wanted her from the moment he saw her at the train station in her widow’s robes. He’d known she’d suffered a great loss and knew he must bide his time until she was ready to give herself to him. The storm had provided the perfect situation for them to be together and if she was willing, he would take full advantage of the situation.
He only prayed she felt the same about him as he did about her.

This story starts in Boston where Maggie is grieving for her husband and the loss of their life plans. She’s compelled by that dead husband to go to Scotland where the two lovers meet. Hope you enjoyed this little look into this wonderful story.

Our Sexy Tomorrow ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #MSSAuthors #LynnCrain #PCers

Welcome to week 84th week of My Sexy Saturday. The week’s theme is Our Sexy Tomorrow and it was noted that this theme would mean different things for different authors. I chose to interpret this as showing that the couple in your book is working toward their tomorrow. Don’t forget to visit on Monday for Monday’s Austria Scoop where I talk all about the happenings here in Vienna, Austria and Tuesday for My So-Called Writing Life where I talk about what it truly means to be a writer.

This week, I’m using a story from my backlist. It’s the award-winning historic erotic romance, The Haunting of Maggie Grey. This is a wonderful story about an 1880s woman doctor on the Isle of Skye. Here’s the setup:

Haunted by the ghost of her husband, Doctor Maggie Grey goes to Scotland to fulfill their dream. Little does she know it includes Conall MacGryman.

This book is a novella and I loved writing it because Scotland is basically my most favorite place in the world. Yeah, it’s that cool. I hope you enjoy Maggie’s story with my snippet this week of seven sexy paragraphs!

She closed her eyes, it hurt too much to look at him as a dry sob burned her throat. “I am too late, am I not?” He lifted her chin and she refused to open her eyes.
“Too late for what, Maggie? I am not going to help yeu with this one at all.”
She slowly opened her eyes. “I am too late to say I love you. I have loved you for a while now and I was too afraid to admit it even to myself. But now I am too late because you are leaving.” His smile was slow, naughty and completely breathtaking.
“See, now that was not too hard, was it?”
“No…but why are you leaving?”
He gave her an intense scowl. “What did yeu expect me to do? Yeu had refused me over and over. I felt a change of scenery would be in order.”
Her heart sank as the pain knifed through her. She had lost him. “Were you ever coming back to me? To us?”

This book was published by my traditional ePublisher, eXtasy Books, happens to have a lot of my books on sale at their website. A Snog for Sommer ~ @oddlynn3 #snogging #LynnCrain

Wow! I finally made it…I hate computer problems…don’t you?

But today isn’t about me or my computer issues. Today is for Sommer Marsden and her family. They are going through some very hard times right now and need our support in any way we can help. So, some authors are getting together and doing this blog hop for her. That’s what friends and the writers communities do…pull together when one of us are in need…if you can help out, please, please do so.

For my part, I will give away one copy of any book of mine if you can tell me just one thing about Sommer. Now, you can find out a few things at her website http://sommermarsden.blogspot.co.uk or you can even go to Snog for Sommer post here http://smutforgood.co.uk/a-snog-for-sommer/ as there are a few more things there about her as well.

I hope that once you read all about this talented author, you help us lend her a hand.

Now, on to the snogging. After all, isn’t that one of the perks for following the hop? Here’s just one of my snogging events that happen often and frequently in my books. This one is from a historic erotic romance called, The Haunting of Maggie Grey.  This award winning book is on sale at eXtasy Books for just $0.99. Here’s the setup:

Maggie Grey had wanted to be a doctor all her life. She achieved her dream along with her husband, Justin. Now all Justin has to do is to convince Maggie to give the man a chance so she can fall in love again…for both their sakes.

And here’s their marvelous first kiss. All full of passion and warmth. Hope you enjoy!

“Maggie,” the seductive whisper of her name brought her soft brown eyes to glance quickly at him. “Do not turn away from me, girl.” His hand curled completely around her head, filing his palm as if she were a small child, holding her where he wanted. He’d know she’d suffered a great loss and  knew he must bide his time until she was ready to give herself to him. The storm had provided  the perfect situation  for them to be together and if she was willing he was going to take full advantage of it.
He only prayed she felt the same about him as he did about her.
***
Finally. Now, be happy and thoroughly loved.
Slowly, Maggie closed her eyes as Justin’s words echoed in her head. The realization she had Justin’s blessing, freed her. She wanted Conall. Yet didn’t understand why she felt like a shy little girl with this man. He was not much older than her, but he was wise in ways she could never understand.
Against his seeking lips, her mouth opened, allowing him full access to its inner recesses. It had never felt this way with Justin. She had never experienced this out of control feeling of burning need in the pit of her stomach. A need she understood only this man and his body could ease. Making love with her late husband had been nice and warm, comfortable. Nothing like this burning inside her that was fast threatening to rage out of control.
His tongue sought and stroked hers, waging a war with her for the upper hand. The man towered over her yet she needed to get as close as she could to him. Rising to her tiptoes, she pressed her body closer against him. There was no denying the heat being generated. The feel of his hard shaft relentlessly pressed into her belly. Picking her up gently, he pressed her against the barn wall.
“Put yeur legs around me,” he murmured, before delving deeper into her mouth.
He eased back and worked his mouth across her warm skin, placing hot kisses against her soft neck. She was surprised when cool air brushed against her skin, but the feel of his rough hands as they moved along her legs when she wound them around his hips, filled her with liquid heat. With his eyes on hers, he gently ran his hand along her inner thigh, toward the core of her being.
She had never felt this way before…trembling from the hot and cold sensations moving over her, through her. Everywhere his strong fingers touched, more liquid fire pooled inside her. She feared if he got much closer, she would burst into flames. “Wait, please.”
He pulled back, looking at her. “Did I hurt yeu?”
She put her hand on his whiskered cheek. “No, you could never hurt me. I just need to catch my breath.” She quickly realized he was going to lower her to the ground and step away. She cupped the back of his head and held him in place. “I don’t want you to stop. Please, I just—I have never—” The corner of his mouth tipped before he silenced her with a quick kiss and lowered her feet to the floor.
“I am going to take yeur clothes off,” he said, reaching for the buttons on her blouse . “When I’m finished, if yeu would like, I will let yeu do the same to me.”
Maggie had only loved one man in her life and that was Justin. If she crossed this bridge, she could never go back. Justin’s voice filled her head.
Please for both of us, make love to him, I give you my blessing. I need to know you are happy before I go.
She hesitated, but only for a moment. But it was long enough.
Uncertainty echoed in his deep brogue. “If yeu do not want this –”
She gently placed her finger over his lips. “I want very much.” She pulled his head down to hers and gently nibbled on his lip.

Hope you enjoyed that snippet. Don’t forget to visit all the great authors from a Snog for Sommer. They have even more amazing and sexy snippets to share.

A Sexy Carriage Ride ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 55 at My Sexy Saturday and this week it’s a sexy carriage ride. The instructions says that ride can be a space ship or anything else that constitutes a sexy ride. I have sleigh’s as well but nothing seemed to fit. Then I remembered a little story that catapulted my career in high gear because it won a great award, an EPPIE now called EPIC’s eBook Award. It’s a very prestigious award in the world of ebooks and it made my day.

It’s the only historical I’ve written and gotten published. Let’s just say that the rest will stay hidden in a box somewhere. LOL! This one has a ghost, a woman doctor and a Scottish hero…why could as for more!

Our week has been fraught with storms again though most of them didn’t have the thunder of past weeks. Pup Harry has been great and is such a happy dog. Also, our friends have returned to the States and we await my husband’s parents visit in September.

How’s it been going in your neck of the woods? Don’t forget that every comment you make this month will be entered into my monthly contest for a $20 gift certificate. And believe me, you’ll have plenty of opportunity.

Here’s the setup for this week’s snippet: Maggie Grey had wanted to be a doctor all her life. She achieved her dream along with her husband, Justin. Together they planned to build a clinic on his ancestral home on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. But women doctors in the year 1882 didn’t have many options and even fewer if they were widowed like she had been recently. Add the fact that her dead husband is haunting her with the request for her to fall in love again and she knows she’s losing her mind.

Now all Justin has to do is to convince Maggie to give the man a chance so she can fall in love again…for both their sakes.

This book was so fun to write as I knew how it would end the moment I put that first sentence on the page. It’s a quick, easy read with wonderful scenary from the Isle of Skye, a hot Scottish hunk, who thinks he isn’t good enough for our doctor heroine in the beginning. But the ghost changes all their minds. You can get it here at eXtasy Books. Happy reading!
