Welcome to week 120^th week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is A Sexy Galaxy and this has to be one of my favorite themes. I love writing sci-fi romance. Think Star Wars or Star Trek and throw in a little Galaxy Quest then you’ll have my idea of favorite sci-fi movies. Add a little Battlestar Galatica, Deep Space Nine or even Dark Matter and you’ll get more of a hint of what I like. I guess you could say that I’m a sci-fi kinda girl.

Still, writing science fiction romance isn’t as easy as it seems. See the technology needs to have some basis in reality then once the author gets hold of that knowledge, all they need to do is to twist it just a little and make it our own. That’s what I did in my story More Than Robotics. In that book I used nanites to help the good guys achieve their goals. This technology is just now coming into its own and I love using them.

I apologize for not doing Monday’s Austria Scoop and Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Life columns this week. I’m still reeling from the recent events in Europe then the events in California just made things look even more surreal. While I didn’t know any of the victims, there was always a chance that I could have since we have friends in the area. Let’s just say the whole thing isn’t good as I don’t understand what is going on in the world. It’s a sad time and hopefully, we can get back to not having to look over our shoulder soon. I do plan to put up the columns this week and other than the holidays, I promise to be better.

I did have someone comment this week and Rayne Forrest is the winner of last week’s $5 Amazon Gift Certificate. Now remember, I’m just choosing a random day to give these $5 Amazon GCs. Here’s the setup of my novella, More Than Robotics:

There were only three things in life that Captain Bekka Taylor wanted in life: 1) Command of a Warrior Class Star Marauder, 2) To grow old gracefully and 3) A lover who understood her fiery nature. She was accomplishing two out of her three objectives very nicely when an internal IUA conflict begins to encompass the whole world as she knows it. Then Lieutenant Javed Malik comes aboard, clearly younger than she, with dreamy eyes and a secret meant only for her. But letting him in means getting rid of years of frustration and anguish and maybe her career. Can she survive another war or the smoldering looks from her junior officer sent to protect her 24/7?

Here’s my seven paragraphs from More Than Robotics:

“That’s all for now and it’s most of what I know. But we all share the same concerns as I’m sure you have. Javed has the specifics on our next contact. And please don’t get mad at me for the unconventional way I have instructed him to give those orders to you. It was necessary.”

I turned to look at him suspiciously. “What is she talking about?”

In less than the blink of an eye, he was again by my side, pulling me up from my chair, his hands taking my face to gaze in my eyes. “Don’t struggle,” he whispered close to my ear. “I think we have prying eyes.” His lips came down fiercely on mine, his tongue snaking in to dominate me and I wanted to do the very thing he asked that I not do. Instead I tried to let myself enjoy the moment as it had been quite some time since I had had this type of human contact.

My hands gripped his waist and pulled him even closer to me. I could feel his legs press harder into me as his arms went completely around me. Within moments, I could feel the hard bulge of his body and mine responded in kind. There was nothing more I wanted to do except rip his clothes off that luscious male form.

He pulled away from me and shuddered, resting his forehead against mine. “We should really stop right now.” His brown eyes looked deep into mine and I nearly passed out as his next words flashed across my consciousness. You are an amazing woman and rest assured, we will finish this.

The last bit had exploded across my brain and I raised a shaky hand to rub my forehead. It was as if he were right inside me, whispering his thoughts.

Don’t fight it. Let it happen. The clonedroids helped us to perfect one of their technologies for our use. This is the major way they communicate between each other. You are now the proud owner of some audiobotic nanotechnology. They attach to your nerves for hearing and other pertinent areas of your brain associated with the function. From now on, we’ll be able to communication this way as we are attuned only to each other. No one else is on this frequency.

So this week I decided to go back to my roots and one of my early stories. It’s called Private Dancer and will be on sale soon at eXtasy Books once again. Originally it had been part of the anthology Violet Visions where we had to write a story to match the cover. It is one of my better stories and I’m seriously thinking that the world I created just might need another story. It’s sexy and interesting and very different from many of the things I write. I like being different. Here’s the setup:

Aeryn Connor, an exotic dancer, is stuck on the moon Janus 345 miles above her intended target of Araelus Prime.  She would have never chosen this hell-hole as her home but she had no choice as the blue-green, earth-like planet below continued to call her, filling her with a yearning she’s never felt before.  And her best friend, Diana, is being called as well. But something is terribly wrong as both of them become ill from an unseen source. Aeryn knows that they will die if they can’t make it to the planet in time. Can Aeryn successfully face the challenges before her so both she and Diana make it to the planet alive? Or will her efforts be in vain?

Here’s my seven sexy paragraphs from Private Dancer:

Sucking in a big breath, I couldn’t help but hold it. “I know but this is all so new to me.”

“And to me,” he answered and leaned in to kiss me gently on the lips.

It was as if the floodgates were released. My arms twined around his neck and I pulled him into a deeper kiss. This was what I had been missing, this was what my body and soul needed to heal itself. My hand reached under his shirt and I began to caress him, when he pulled back slightly.

“I need to tell you my name, Aeryn Connor, or the mating won’t be considered permanent.”

I looked up into his eyes. And they were a beautiful shade of purple as was his skin. His hair was jet black with a slight purple cast and hung in dreadlocks down his shoulders. For some reason, it looked a hell of a lot better on him than anyone else I had ever seen. His face was a work of art, all chiseled in the right places with wonderful lips. I already knew that his body was muscular and he towered over me a good six inches.

I stopped and waited for him to make the next move.

“My name is Kadell el-Duquat and I take you Aeryn Connor as my mate. Do you accept the rite of umkata according to Araelian law?”

Welcome to week 95^th  week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is Our Sexy Galaxy and is the groups nod toward sci-fi romance. Need I say, I love sci-fi romance and have a few stories that reflect this topic.  

Some reminders, don’t forget Monday’s Austria Scoop where I talk about Austria and Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Live where I talk writing and life. Both can be incredibly boring or incredibly exciting. Depends upon your perspective of cours.

Today’s book is one I love and hope to get back to this year. The Harvester is about a planet of women that harvest men. Here’s the set up:

The Harvester

Princess Sky Xera Nerezsh came to earth to avoid the normal succession to the throne. Being the oldest daughter, she will be required to murder her mother in order to secure her path to power. Sky loves her mother and refuses this way, choosing instead to disappear in the vast reaches of space. When her past collides with her present, she has to think quick on her feet, claim two men and a whole planet just to avoid the inevitable: a meeting with her mother. Along the way, she discovers true love and a burning need to be there for them always. Now if the other Harvesters can just keep to themselves, they’ll have no problems. But who said true love was ever easy.

Here’s my seven paragraphs from The Harvester:

“Can’t we have sex first then worry about the details later?”

Both Jaxon and Sky turned to give him a withering look before they looked at each other and laughed. “Is he always like this?”

Jaxon shook his head. “No, I think you scared him good and he’s compensating by being the funny man.”

“Not fair telling all my secrets.” Zane lifted a pinky and took another sip of tea.

Jaxon’s warm chuckle boomed in the small space. “No one knows all your secrets.”

“True. Still, they aren’t yours to tell.”

Sky felt like a third wheel as the two of them tossed their easy banter about. She tried to relax and realized she couldn’t. She wanted them with every fiber of her being. She had never had any men, prey or otherwise, make her feel this way. “The secrets can wait as can the banter. We need to devise a plan. Do either of you have any battle training?”

This is the first book in the Girls Night Out series and hopefully won’t be the last. I know that a couple more are just lurking out there and now’s the time to get things going again.

Welcome to week 82nd week of My Sexy Saturday. The week’s theme is Sexy Me Once and according to the post it came from the song, “Kiss me once and kiss me twice then kiss me once again…it’s been a long, long time.” I remember hearing that song when I was growing up. It reminded me of something sweet. Now, it’s for something sweet and sexy. I have a few of those, so it should be pretty easy this time. Don’t forget to read Monday’s post as that’s the new day I have slated for my personal weekly update. Monday’s aren’t my best days and I figure if I can make you all laugh, I’ve at least accomplished something good for the week.

Again, this week’s theme is all about Sexy Me Once and that leads me to believe there will be a second and possibly a third time in doing the deed sometime for those characters. In my mind, it sounds like a slow build of sexual tension and I can’t think of any better book than the one I’m about to showcase here. It’s a book that I loved to write and truly loved to see the characters grow on the page. More Than Robotics is the second in a series called The Orchid series about life’s tangled webs in a future time with some kick-ass technology. It is published by eXtasy Books and here’s the setup:

This is a long novella and I loved writing it because it’s always fun to see how one can twist today’s technology. I hope you enjoy Bekka’s story with my snippet this week of seven sexy paragraphs! Until this man, I had never felt any sensations like these before as no one had ever touched me this way. When I had had my other sexual encounters, I could name a bare few where sex had been for my total bliss. This man had always taken care of my needs first. My delight gave him a joy I could feel. And I was beginning to love him for his attention to my experiences.

The question came gently to my mind and I tried my best not to clench up. We had to get through this before I declared my feelings. We had to live. Enemies would use those feelings against you if they ever found them out. No, no, nothing’s wrong.

Oh, heavens no! My heart skipped a beat as I realized my actions caused him to pause. Please…I…we need this before tomorrow. Who knows when the next time will be? Who knows if we’ll even survive the day?

Welcome to week 81st week of My Sexy Saturday. The week’s theme is My Sexy Addiction.  In my mind, it’s hard to definite the word addiction, and in this case a sexy addiction. I supposed it could mean the actual act itself or maybe it means just something one does while having set like a special nip or bite. After all, it has been said that a vampire’s bite would be addicting once bitten. So once again, I had to think about what book I might have where something is addicting and sexy at the same time. I even looked at my works-in-progress to find something I felt would add to this meme. And I think I’ve found one. Still, a little about this week before I dive right into the snippet.

I’ll be pushing my Facebook author page for a while as it will always be the best place to get information about new and upcoming releases I’ll be having. And surprise, surprise, there will be a new release shown on that page this coming week. Yes, I am still in my writing cave, and yes, I’ve still been working on the same project. I’ll keep you posted since I do plan to have a website for that project up soon. Yeah, it’s that important and cool and everything I want it to be. I just hope you, the reader, will feel the same.

It’s another wonderful day in Austria weather wise. It’s a little cloudy and rain is in the forecast for this weekend but it has been warm for this time of year. I’ll be taking Pup Harry on a long work walk before I settle into writing. And speaking of Pup Harry, he was highlighted this week at The Write Pet. And this will be the last week that I include these updates with My Sexy Saturday. They really need to be in a blog post all their own and I’ve been lazy about making the change. I know I need to blog at least 3 times a week and I plan to do so. I also plan to host other authors occasionally and will let everyone know when that happens. So fully expect the My So-Called Writing Life column to be live this week on Tuesday. MOF, it’s already scheduled.

Again, this week’s theme is all about sexy addiction. Knowing that sexy addiction can mean many things to many people, I looked through a lot of my stories to find just the right one. Sure, a lot of my characters so have a sexy addiction for their significant others without a doubt, however, when your world is about to be turned upside down, and you end up in your lover’s arms, what does that say about him? Or you for that fact? One of my first stories that I ever wrote was about a woman who loved a man so totally that there was no one else for her. And in space, you’d think many would want to take all they could from life. Not her. This story is the first in a series called The Orchid series about life’s tangled webs. It is published by  eXtasy Books and here’s the setup:

Fallon Montgomery may be the most brilliant AI and mechanical engineer the IUA has ever seen. But even that brilliance cannot overcome the feeling of overwhelming dread that she has when a derelict pod is taken aboard her ship. She is even more shocked to find within that pod, a younger version of herself and a man who looks like her lover.

This is a novella and like I said before, I love writing the shorter stories. I have been writing more of them this week than before. There is something awesome about taking a day and producing a finished product. Yet, this is one of my first and definitely one of my favorites. Enjoy Fallon’s sexy addition and my snippet of seven paragraphs!

“Quiet,” he said and looked into my eyes, smile lines wrinkled their edges. “I need to concentrate on what I’m doing. You don’t want a sore head, do you?”

“No,” I breathed and let the motion take me to that place only two lovers can go.

He held me confidently in his arms, hands snug against my ass. Continuing to kiss my neck and face, Aidan ended back on my mouth with such a mind-blowing sensation that I nearly fainted from the desire it aroused. Slowly, his tongue dueled with mine. His body began to move in the rhythm of the ancient beat buried in each person. Each push was excruciating torture, but a torture for which I desired more. Each movement rubbed that inner core for the  second time in less than ten minutes, making me feel as if my life were taking a crazy spill.

I could feel Aidan straining toward his climax with each movement. I wanted to melt and merge into this person totally with such an intense feeling that I had previously questioned its existence. Reaching around his body, I gripped his butt, alternating between a firm grip and a tender stroke. Our breath became more and more labored, coming in short gasps as our strokes became quicker and quicker. Suddenly, I burst open like a flower in a spring that I had never known. Having been born on Earth but reared in space, I never once knew the feel of the seasons.

“God…that was good,” Aidan murmured, cupping my face. “Now tell me that wasn’t the most intense thing that you have ever felt.”

“I can’t,” I said with difficulty, watching his eyebrow arch. “I can’t, because that was the best orgasm that I’ve ever felt in my whole life.” I kissed his mouth tenderly, savoring the feel of his lips upon mine.

“Good…because in the next few minutes, your world is going to be turned upside down and you need to hold on to this…” Aidan said as he eyed me seriously, “…and to us.”

Welcome to week 60^th week of My Sexy Saturday. As usual, this week is all about a couple who are very romantic. All my couples have romance flowing through them. They love to lavish things upon their significant other especially when they are wooing them. This week I’ll be sharing a bit about a story called Private Dancer. It was originally in an anthology and now is getting prepared for single release. I can’t give you the date just yet as I’m slower than molasses but it will be soon.  

Things have been going pretty great here in Austria. The weather has finally gone to a wonderful fall except I’m still not seeing my fall colors like previous year. Pup Harry is recovering of only having me in the house. He loves jogging and now that the DH is home, he gets to do so every morning. Makes one very happy dog. How’s life going in your part of the world?

Welcome to week 50 at My Sexy Saturday and this week I’ve been very busy with life things. We sent the youngest back to the States this week and that took nearly two days for me as I waited to hear he was home safe. Then there’s been the rain…and I love it…LOL! It’s been raining since Thursday afternoon with a slight break today. But I love hearing the rain against the windows…can’t wait to hear it again on our roof in the States…how’s your week been?

This week is all about making sexy. Sometimes, people don’t start out sexy. They can be boring and bland and then something happens in your story making you think just how sexy that character has become.

Captain Bekka Taylor is just one such character. She thinks life has passed her by and love will never enter her life again. She thinks she’s getting too old, too tired and too used to being in charge that she’ll never have the chance to let someone into her life who doesn’t care that she’s the Captain of one very large spaceship.

Not so with Lieutenant Javed Malik, an Orchid operative that has one mission alone: to save Captain Bekka Taylor no matter what the cost. And he does even more. He makes sure that Bekka knows she matters to her friend and more specifically to him.

I nodded and leaned back into him as he placed his hands next to mine on the counter. I hear what you’re saying, but I am so tired of waiting for the right moment. The time may never be right.

I know, but my instructions were to protect you and the only way I can do that is with a well-defined plan. He rubbed my shoulders and leaned over to kiss the back of my neck.

I’ll give you one more day. We leave tomorrow. I turned and faced him, my body rubbing against his. Is that clear?

As a bell. He leaned in and kissed me, taking his time to arouse my senses.

I gave him a lopsided smile. Do we have time for this?

We always have time for this. He reached up and grabbed my hair, pulling me closer to him. I will never get enough of you.

He swung me up into his arms and carried me to the bed and gently laid me down, his eyes worshiping me with their warmth. His hands caressed me through my uniform and my body craved his touch. I reached out and touched his hands, amazed at how soft and wonderful they felt. Do they ever hurt?

Welcome to week 49 at My Sexy Saturday and this week I’ve been out and about Europe. We went to fabulous places like Venice and the Alps. You can find the full scoop late this week at my other blog, A Writer in Vienna, as I talk about this latest foray out into the European countryside.

Orginally I had posted this: This will probably look a little ragged until I get home from my short vacation to fix it...but at least it's posted...and I'm happy. Look for the updated version on Saturday evening when this opening paragraph will go away. After all, what can I expect when I didn't pack all the credentials needed to fire up my Office 365 on the road. That's a whole other story.

And it still pertains to the situation today. So, I’m seriously thinking about getting a Surface when I can as I hate lugging that huge laptop around with me to write, Skype or post at various places. So, it's going to be short and sweet. Bek, we’ve gone over this before. Hey, now is the time to not fall apart on me. What’s wrong? Javed crossed the room and cupped my cheek in a gentle hand.

How can you ask that? Most of the people on this ship are family…my family…there has to be a way we can wipe the bad and replace them with the good? I felt the emotion bubbling to the surface like a boiling cauldron. These people had been my family for more years than I cared to remember. They were all I had when life went bad as it occasionally did. Fallon had been so far away most of those times and we had visited each other so little in the years since the academy even though we had talked more or less weekly.

He closed his eyes as if he suffered my pain. I’ve told you this before, only if we can wipe them clean and start fresh. Even then we can’t guarantee that the person you get will be the one you remember. I am so sorry, but your crew will never be the same.

I stopped and rubbed my face to get a grip on my emotions. This can’t be all there is. It’s a unacceptable scenario. We can’t win, they can’t win. It’s a no win situation. No one willing goes into one without having a damn good back up plan.

Don’t give you training for that in the academy do they? Look, we’re doing what we can with the knowledge we have. There isn’t much there as far as intelligence goes or at least not when I left the Lanko. The chatter has died down and it’s my hope Fallon 2 has gotten through to them somehow. If not, I suspected we’d hear fighting in this very hall as they tried to get through the door.

I gazed at him through tired eyes. The whole time we had been hidden we’d gone through every bit of intel we had and he was correct. There wasn’t much. And Trevor had said the same thing. Added to the fact we received no new information and one could say we had fallen off the fricking grid. Suddenly, my heart beat rose and the feeling wasn’t from good as I had a sick sense in the pit of my stomach. Have you checked our position recently?
