My Sexy Saturday ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #MSSAuthors #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 103rd week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is A Very Sexy Time. Once again, I feel that all my stories have some very sexy times in them. However, I think this one has a very unusual setting for a very sexy time. The scene I’ll be sharing today takes place in a barn. Not just any barn but one from the 1880s. Some reminders first…

Don’t forget, my blog is always hopping with Monday’s Austria Scoop where I talk about Austria and Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Life where I talk writing and life. Both can be incredibly boring or incredibly exciting. Some weeks it’s a little bit of both. Last week I talked about an Austrian wedding for the Austria Scoop and somehow, My So-Called Writing Life post never showed. I had apparently scheduled it for this week. I really shouldn’t work when I have a headache…but check out the blog as I might just cover that.

Today’s story is one that has a very special place in my heart. I know you all are tired of hearing just how much I love Scotland. I do and really wish I could live there. This story has won awards and is just an all-around great story about a woman doctor whose husband is haunting her to move on with her life. Here’s the setup:

Maggie Grey had wanted to be a doctor all her life. She achieved her dream along with her husband, Justin. Together they planned to build a clinic on his ancestral home on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. But women doctors in the year 1882 didn’t have many options and even fewer if they were widowed like she had been recently. Arriving in England to visit Elizabeth Blackwell, founder of the London Medical School for Woman, she is discouraged to find that the only real health care on the remote Isle of Skye will be herself, a few aging doctors as well as veterinary doctors.

But she must build a clinic there to escape her memories and fulfill her late husband’s dream. Maggie goes by train and boat to the rather bleak Isle of Skye. The island is almost as barren as she feels and she isn’t sure if she can even fit in. Add the fact that her dead husband is haunting her with the request for her to fall in love again and she knows she’s losing her mind.

But the people of Skye need her…and she is determined not to let them down...but they are slow to accept a widowed woman doctor. Now if she were married again…that would be a different matter…and her dead husband, Justin, knows just the right man for the job, Conall MacGryman, his childhood friend and cousin, a veterinary for the island. Now all Justin has to do is to convince Maggie to give the man a chance so she can fall in love again…for both their sakes.

Here’s my seven sexy paragraphs from The Haunting of Maggie Grey:

“Fine.” His hands shook from the cold and his fingers clumsy as he tried to undo the buttons.
Shaking her head, Maggie pushed his frozen fingers out of the way and undid each one as if it were a seductive dance. With the last one free, she walked around him and, standing on tiptoes, eased the heavy coat from his shoulders. Placing it next to hers on the cow pen, she turned, surprised to find he was right behind her. She leaned heavily into the wood, trying to still her fast beating heart.
* * * *
“Maggie,” the seductive whisper of her name brought her soft brown eyes to glance quickly at him. “Do not turn away from me, girl.” His hand curled completely around her head, filing his palm as if she were a small child, holding her where he wanted. He was so large and she was so small. Never had he felt like he held a fine piece of fragile porcelain. Winding his fingers into the silk of her hair, he slowly, he forced her to face him, gazing deeply in her brown eyes. “I am going to kiss yeu now.”
He lowered his lips to hers, devouring her bottom lip in one swoop. Nibbling at the edges, he gained access to her mouth and groaned. Conall did not want to scare her off. But he needed her in the worst way and he was sure if she would just press herself against him, she would feel his hard shaft, would know his body wanted her much in the same way he was sure she wanted him. They had danced around each other for two months, but the woman acted like a virgin instead of the widow he knew her to be. The deep red color of her hair should indicate her passion ran hot instead of the shyness she displayed with him on many occasions.
“Open up completely, girl,” he whispered even more seductively than the first time as he softened his mouth to stroke against her soft lips. He was surprised when it took little prompting on his part to get her to open her mouth as his tongue slid in.
Neither of them was naive as to what happened between a man and a woman. He had wanted her from the moment he saw her at the train station in her widow’s robes. He’d known she’d suffered a great loss and knew he must bide his time until she was ready to give herself to him. The storm had provided the perfect situation for them to be together and if she was willing, he would take full advantage of the situation.
He only prayed she felt the same about him as he did about her.

This story starts in Boston where Maggie is grieving for her husband and the loss of their life plans. She’s compelled by that dead husband to go to Scotland where the two lovers meet. Hope you enjoyed this little look into this wonderful story.

My Sexy Woman ~ @oddlynn3 #LynnCrain #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSSAuthors #MSS101

Welcome to week 101st week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is My Sexy Woman. I have lots of stories with very sexy women but this week will be short and sweet as I want to introduce you to someone new.

A couple reminders first: Don’t forget, my blog is always hopping with Monday’s Austria Scoop where I talk about Austria and Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Live where I talk writing and life. Both can be incredibly boring or incredibly exciting. Some weeks it’s a little bit of both. They’re both right on schedule this week as I talk about my latest adventures.

Today’s story is one that is part of my MacKenzie Clan series. I shared the first book with you last week and should be working on book 2. However, something miraculous happened and while I was in Munich, I saw perfectly the first scene of book 3. Never one to miss an opportunity, I quickly wrote it down and am going to share with you an unedited seven sentences that I feel shares a little about the sexy woman in this story.

The story is tentatively titled Protecting a Scottish Lass, and is the third book in my MacKenzie Clan series. Here’s the setup:

Whisky connoisseur, Isabel MacKenzie, is living her dream of being in charge of the family distillery. Even though there has been an incidence of some whisky being tainted, she feels there is no need for her brother’s intervention. However, the government wants answers and requests they investigate to make sure there is nothing wrong with their whisky making process.
Daniel Carbeareaux is happy to do anything for his boss and gladly takes on the investigative task to discern if the MacKenzie’s have any culpability in the whisky tainting problem.
Sparks fly but both are determined to get to the bottom of the incident. Soon, they find themselves falling in love yet don’t know if that love can last when the investigation is over.

Here’s my seven sexy sentences from Protecting a Scottish Lass:

Still his eyes perused the small pub, eventually noticing me. His smile was instantaneous and I understood he was by far the most handsome and beautiful man I’d ever laid eyes on.
Grabbing my beer, I jumped down and stalked toward him. At least, I hoped that’s what I appeared to be doing. It took me no more than a minute to be standing next to him. His cologne reached my nose – tangy with a hint of sizzle.
“Hi.”

I love writing about Scotland and have many more stories to develop using it as a backdrop. I hope you all will love these stories as they continue to grow. I know that I love writing them.

Are You Sexy? ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSSAuthors #BYNR #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 87th week of My Sexy Saturday. The week’s theme is Are You Sexy and it’s about those characters that are naturally sexy. Don’t forget to drop by for Monday’s Austria Scoop and Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Live where I talk about the limos and tiaras. Not really but it does sound good. Remember, the more comments you make, the more you’re entered into my monthly drawing for a $25 gift certificate to the ebook retailer of your choice. You don’t comment, you won’t have a chance!

I knew immediately just what characters exuded sexy without really caring about how he looks. He’s a natural and his name is Logan MacKenzie of the contemporary Clan MacKenzie from the heart of Scotland. He’s the hero in my book, Loving the Scotsman. This book is with my agent right now and she’s patiently waiting for me to complete the second book in the series before we move forward. Unfortunately, the editing on the second book is coming along slowly. It was my Camp NaNo book last year and boy is it ever the ugly duckling. But we’re whipping it into shape and hopefully this trilogy will be with a NYC publisher in no time. I’ll keep you posted. You can find previous references to this story with its original name, Where’s My Underwear, here:

Here’s my snippet from Loving the Scotsman and pictured is my idea of Logan since I obviously don’t have a cover yet:

“I get by.” He continued to walk, not even turning to acknowledge the fact I actually enquired about something personal.
“Boy, friendly, aren’t you?” I muttered under my breath. Suddenly, I found myself pinned against the wall. Not in a bad way mind you but in a sexual, predatory way. I sensed my heart would leap from my chest any moment now as its cadence boomed deep within me. I watched him consume me with his eyes, hot smoldering eyes spoke of sin and sex and heaven only knew what other delights.
What do you want me to say, Eryn?” He leaned into my hair as if breathing in the scent. “Did you expect me to say something like ‘Hi, honey, I’ve missed you these past fifteen years’?  Or would you rather I cut right to the chase and take you right here?”
My eyes opened wide, my body dripping with desire as my nipples hardened. I wanted this man like no other but I couldn’t…no, it wouldn’t do to let him know that fact…not one little bit. I hadn’t expected the anger and maybe his emotion had something to do with last night. “Ah—actually—ah, I just came for my underwear.” I swallowed hard and watched him look at the workings of my throat. I realized it would take little to entice him to place his mouth there.
Slowly, he leveraged himself away from me, making sure I felt every bulge and muscle in his entire body. “Like I said, no can do.” He turned to continue down the hall. I followed him into a rather large office with a splendid view of Edinburgh Castle.
“Wow.” I could only stare at the castle dominating the scene. “You get to look at that every day?” I glanced at him amazed at the wonder I saw in his eyes. He was as affected by what stood out the window as I was.
“I do.” He indicated a dark leather chair in front of his desk as I returned to the reality of the situation.

This book is a big one and comes in just under 100K, so be prepared for a nice long read when it comes out. Also, my traditional ePublisher, eXtasy Books still has many of my books on sale at their website. Our Sexy Tomorrow ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #MSSAuthors #LynnCrain #PCers

Welcome to week 84th week of My Sexy Saturday. The week’s theme is Our Sexy Tomorrow and it was noted that this theme would mean different things for different authors. I chose to interpret this as showing that the couple in your book is working toward their tomorrow. Don’t forget to visit on Monday for Monday’s Austria Scoop where I talk all about the happenings here in Vienna, Austria and Tuesday for My So-Called Writing Life where I talk about what it truly means to be a writer.

This week, I’m using a story from my backlist. It’s the award-winning historic erotic romance, The Haunting of Maggie Grey. This is a wonderful story about an 1880s woman doctor on the Isle of Skye. Here’s the setup:

Haunted by the ghost of her husband, Doctor Maggie Grey goes to Scotland to fulfill their dream. Little does she know it includes Conall MacGryman.

This book is a novella and I loved writing it because Scotland is basically my most favorite place in the world. Yeah, it’s that cool. I hope you enjoy Maggie’s story with my snippet this week of seven sexy paragraphs!

She closed her eyes, it hurt too much to look at him as a dry sob burned her throat. “I am too late, am I not?” He lifted her chin and she refused to open her eyes.
“Too late for what, Maggie? I am not going to help yeu with this one at all.”
She slowly opened her eyes. “I am too late to say I love you. I have loved you for a while now and I was too afraid to admit it even to myself. But now I am too late because you are leaving.” His smile was slow, naughty and completely breathtaking.
“See, now that was not too hard, was it?”
“No…but why are you leaving?”
He gave her an intense scowl. “What did yeu expect me to do? Yeu had refused me over and over. I felt a change of scenery would be in order.”
Her heart sank as the pain knifed through her. She had lost him. “Were you ever coming back to me? To us?”

This book was published by my traditional ePublisher, eXtasy Books, happens to have a lot of my books on sale at their website. If you’ve never read any of my stories, now’s the time to get them at a great discount and see if I write stories you might like. Matter of fact, The Haunting of Maggie Grey is one of those stories. Sexy Down the Avenue ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 70th week of My Sexy Saturday. The week’s theme is Sexy Down the Avenue and it’s a nod to the historical authors of the group. There are quite a few of them there but to be honest, I’ve only written a few. Not that I don’t like historicals, I do, but I am drawn to certain ones. Yeah, you got it…the ones about Scotland. And I do have more than one book set in that wonderful place. But first, a little about my week.

Needless to say, Thanksgiving was a little bit of a let down this year. And the reason was is that pup Harry and I spent it by ourselves. Not that we don’t like each other we do. But being alone reminded us of what we were missing at our US home and that made us a little sad on the day itself. However, to make up for it, I treated myself with a nothing day. Meaning I didn’t plan anything but could do whatever I wanted. And I wanted to catch up of shows and movies. And it was rather fun. Lots of new ideas brewing in my head.

Please have a little more patience on my big reveals and surprises. I didn’t realize just how hard it was going to be to set everything up. But I still think you all will be happy with the outcome. Still, I apologize for dragging you on and not delivering. It willb e this week, I promise.

Again, Austria doesn’t know what season it is, at least not this week. We had lots of very cold days and yesterday, a fog rolled in that made me think of the streets of London. Yeah, it was that interesting and cool. We’ve had this happen a few time but I can’t remember it in winter. One weird thing is that this mist is falling out of the sky but it’s not rain. It’s more like it’s been hanging suspended and gravity finally realized it was there. Pup Harry and I were damp when we got home but not wet. It does accumulate like and there was lots of water dripping from the buildings and overhangs. Now if it just gets a little colder, this will all be snow. And according to the weatherman, Monday night at 11 pm, we’ll get an hour of the stuff. I’ll believe it when I see it.

This week, I’m sharing sexy seven paragraphs from my book The Haunting of Maggie Grey. It is my only historical novel to date and I’m proud to say, it’s an award winning book. I was very surprised when it won that award. So much so, I asked them to make sure the scores were correct as it was a contest I’d entered often but had only been a finalist once. This story has been highlighted here before and I never get tired of it. It’s all about a woman doctor in 1880s Scotland. It has many historical facts and was well researched. When I visited various places on the Isle of Skye, I was plotting this story in my head. And what’s even more wonderful…it’s on sale for just $0.99!

She must build a clinic there to escape her memories and fulfill her late husband’s dream.

Now all Justin has to do is to convince Maggie to give the man a chance so she can fall in love again…for both their sakes. her his love is fathomless. No matter what the future holds.

This is was great book to write. I had to know the history of Scotland and more than that, I got to visit the Isle to make sure I got it all straight. And believe it or not, there are so many more places to visit in that wonderful land. So here’s my sexy seven paragraphs. Need I say again that this is one of my favorite books to write…and I hope you find the wonder of historical Scotland just as appealing as I do!

He came closer, his breath warm on her face to pull it around her lower jaw and mouth. “If yeu breathe into it, it will actually keep yeu a little warmer.”
Desire pulsed in his voice and she hesitated to lift her eyes, half-afraid of what she would see. When she did, she saw the raw, sexual power of a good honest man, each look a caress on her already taut nerves. “Thank you.” Taking her medical bag and the laundry, she urged him to move. “Let us go before it gets even colder.”
Opening the door, his hand settled against her lower back to gently guide her through the door and to the wagon. Putting her bag in first, he turned to place his large hands around her waist and hefted her into the seat. Placing the wool blanket around her knees, she watched him as he returned to shut the door of the clinic. She loved the easy charm of living in the country where everyone was family, while there was no need to lock her doors, she still locked away the medicines nightly to keep them from falling into the wrong hands.
Climbing up beside her, he moved close.
She stretched the blanket across his legs as well. “You were correct. It is colder tonight. I will need to remember my gloves on the morrow.”
“Yes, now is the time of year to be very careful and make sure yeu are covered well.” He slapped the reins on the horses and they jerked the wagon into a slow roll.
Before they had gone too far, the threatening snow started to fall, inundating them with relentless wet flakes. Home was little more than a kilometer away. In good weather, it was a quick trip, but tonight every step was a hard won battle. The ruts in the road became more and more difficult as they trudged along the path. It seemed like forever before they made it to Conall’s barn.

Like I said, my traditional publisher, eXtasy Books, is having a $0.99 sale on some of my books and The Haunting of Maggie Grey is one of them! There is a big wonderful selection and if you’ve never read any of my stories, now’s the time to get them at a great discount and see if I write stories you like. Pick up your copies today!

A Sexy Carriage Ride ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 55 at My Sexy Saturday and this week it’s a sexy carriage ride. The instructions says that ride can be a space ship or anything else that constitutes a sexy ride. I have sleigh’s as well but nothing seemed to fit. Then I remembered a little story that catapulted my career in high gear because it won a great award, an EPPIE now called EPIC’s eBook Award. It’s a very prestigious award in the world of ebooks and it made my day.

It’s the only historical I’ve written and gotten published. Let’s just say that the rest will stay hidden in a box somewhere. LOL! This one has a ghost, a woman doctor and a Scottish hero…why could as for more!

Our week has been fraught with storms again though most of them didn’t have the thunder of past weeks. Pup Harry has been great and is such a happy dog. Also, our friends have returned to the States and we await my husband’s parents visit in September.

How’s it been going in your neck of the woods? Don’t forget that every comment you make this month will be entered into my monthly contest for a $20 gift certificate. And believe me, you’ll have plenty of opportunity.

Here’s the setup for this week’s snippet: Maggie Grey had wanted to be a doctor all her life.
She must build a clinic there to escape her memories and fulfill her late husband’s dream.

This book was so fun to write as I knew how it would end the moment I put that first sentence on the page. It’s a quick, easy read with wonderful scenary from the Isle of Skye, a hot Scottish hunk, who thinks he isn’t good enough for our doctor heroine in the beginning. But the ghost changes all their minds. You can get it here at eXtasy Books. Happy reading!

* * * *
Winding his fingers into the silk of her hair, he slowly forced her to face him, gazing deeply in her brown eyes.
The deep red color of her hair should indicate her passion ran hot instead of the shyness she displayed with him on many occasions..
“Open up completely, girl,” he whispered even more seductively than the first time as he softened his mouth to stroke against her yielding lips.

Loving the Scotsman ~ @oddlynn3 #Saturday7 #MSSWeek36 #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 36 at My Sexy Saturday from beautiful, sexy Vienna, Austria. The weather here is great and even though we had a weird snow moment, I can’t complain. Yesterday I woke to a very painful, light-sensitive eye and had to visit the doctor for diagnosis and medicine. It’s much better today and at least I can tolerate light again. It’s very horrible when an author can’t read the words they are typing.

My Sexy Saturday is a weekly blog hop where authors share sexy snippets of their books with 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs. Each week we entertain you through our snippets that we post. This is for you, our readers, as we value and appreciate each one of you.

Here at XtraOrdinary Romance, we’re still in Chapter 6 of Loving the Scotsman. Remember, I’m only going to highlight one more chapter in this book before I move on to other stories. I think I’ve given everyone a great look into this wonderful novel. I’m hoping you’ll love it because it will make you laugh, feel sad and sometimes cry as you follow the join of reunited lovers.

For those who are new to the Loving the Scotsman world: Two lovers reunite in Edinburgh after a fifteen year hiatus and the sparks fly. The hero coerces said heroine to spend her remaining time with him…hmmm…let’s just say more than sparks light up the room. This scene is during a session of making passionate love and it’s told from the hero’s point of view. And yeah, these two really get into this week’s meme of I Feel Sexy and they prove it time and time again.

I loved writing this story as I got to stretch my wings a lot. It’s told totally in 1st person from both the heroine and hero. It’s a very unique approach and I had to talk to a lot of men, especially the dear husband, when creating the hero Logan. Here are my sexy 7 sentences for the week. Enjoy!

Now was all about the sex and how my dick felt sliding in and out of her hot, wet sheath as I stroked her inner hot spots. She bucked against me and moaned pulling me down to kiss and nip at my lips as her body clasp me inside her even tighter.
“Logan,” her husky voice whispered, “it feels so good.”
“Doesn’t feel too bad on this end either,” I finally managed to say. The head of my penis was so sensitive but this moment was about her, for her. I could get off anytime I wanted as long as I remained in control. With Aeryn, I was more out of control than in and I knew I’d need to work on that aspect of our relationship.

Loving the Scotsman ~ @oddlynn3 #Saturday7 #MSSWeek34 #LynnCrain

It’s week 34 at My Sexy Saturday and I had a really cold week this week. We had a combination of snow, rain and ice, which makes for some slow and frigid walks. Thank goodness pup Harry has his own coat. There were times though where I thought I might have to drag out his sweatshirt one to put on him…it was that cold…LOL! Again, I am hoping that everyone is keeping safe during this very weird winter weather.

For those who are making their first visit here, My Sexy Saturday is a weekly blog hop where authors share sexy snippets of their books with 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs. Today, we have we’re still in Chapter 5 of Loving the Scotsman. When two lovers reunite in Edinburgh after a fifteen year hiatus, the sparks fly. When the hero coerces said heroine to spend her remaining time with him…well…let’s just say more than sparks light up the room. We’re continuing on with the dinner scene from our couples first real date since the first time they were together. The hero’s parents so up and this is one of the lighter moments of the evening.

Enjoy!

The man did have a heart after all. I’d not once seen this reaction from him during any of the time I‘d spent with him when I was with Logan before. “That’s the way it should be.” I again squeezed Logan’s hand under the table, not quite ready to share my rediscovered love with the rest of the world.
“I agree. Were your parents just as happy with each other?”
The question came from Logan and was reasonable, as we hadn’t talked about my parents much before.
