Our Sexy Starry Night ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #LynnCrain

Welcome to week 57 at My Sexy Saturday and welcome to the future as this week is all about the sci-fi in science fiction romance. This is one of my favorite genres to write in and I really can’t wait to get back to it. And I’m hoping to do it before the end of the year. Let’s keep your fingers crossed.

It’s been another very pleasant week in Vienna, Austria and I’d say that fall has definitely raised it’s head this year. This week we’ve run the gamut from sun to light rain to sweater cold. Pup Harry has been on his best behaviour for some reason and it makes me wonder just what he’s been up to while we sleep.

So, how’s it been at your place? Haven’t seen a lot of comments but the few I have had over the month has made it all wonderful. So don’t forget that every comment you make this month will be entered into my monthly contest for a $20 gift certificate. The winner will be announced on Monday, September $20 and you’ll have 24 hours to claim your prize.

This weeks story is one that really started me writing in earnest. It was a little story about a woman who had been mindswiped and wasn’t sure about her identy. It takes place on a rather large sentient ship called Henrietta and if you’ve ever read any of my sci-fi stories, you know that all my ships are characters themselves. For me, it would dull the monotony of space as many times, I see people travelling alone and their only companion would be that ship. Anyway, that’s a story for another day.

The series is called the Orchid series and so far, there are two books with the third on in the que for writing. That’s the one I mentioned before and I hope to get back to it by the end of the year.

The first book in the series is called Fluke and that’s where this wonderful little snippet comes from. The story is about the above mentioned woman, Fallon Montgomery, who happens to be the chief engineer on the ship the Lanko. It’s also about the dark versus the light, the bad versus the good and what the people of that time do to rebel against what is coming. And there’s robots…lots of robots…and enhanced people. Oh, yeah. Enjoy today’s seven. You can get it here at eXtasy Books. Happy reading!

“What does it feel like I’m doing?” Aidan spun me around, looking me over while holding me against the wall. “You are one beautiful woman.”
I gazed into his amazing aqua eyes and smiled. I met Aidan when we first boarded the Lanko together as ship’s engineers over five years ago. While I rose steadily through the ranks, Aidan contented himself with being the chief communications engineer. The first thing that I remember seeing were his legs. He wore shorts, which were very non-regulation then and now. And I liked his ass…it happened to be one of his most admirable traits, along with those aqua eyes.
His mouth swooped to mine, nuzzling and nibbling my lips and moving across my cheek to my ear. Delicately, he blew warm air into that sensitive part of my anatomy, making me shiver with delight before coming back to my lips. He traced their fullness with his tongue, finally slipping inside the warm recesses of my mouth, allowing the passion to build slowly within my groin and other sensitive parts. It took everything I had to pull away.
“We really should go,” I whispered as he licked my neck. “You know I’m supposed to be there.”
“We have time for a quickie,” he murmured, slowly unzipping my uniform. Unzipping the crisp fabric apart all the way down the front of my body allowed him access to the microfiber undershirt covering my breasts and stomach. Gently, his large hands moved under the material to tweak first one, then the other nipple of my very sensitive breasts. This man knew all my erogenous zones.
“We really shouldn’t,” I breathed as his mouth moved down to continue his assault on my body.
“Who says that I ever do what I’m supposed to?” he murmured against my skin.

Don’t forget to visit all the great authors from the My Sexy Saturday weekly blog hop listed below. They have even more amazing and sexy snippets to share.

Have a great weekend...see you next week!

Six Sentence Sunday...Again

Hi everyone!

Welcome to another Six Sentence Sunday. I'm giving you snippets of my WIP, Unlikely Paradise, which is due to be out before the end of the year. If you are new to this story, last week has a summary up to this point. While I've been trying to give at least two passages from each chapter, this one made me revise my rule just a little. I swear, it's truly the last passage from Chapter 5...LOL...enjoy!

It all made sense that the bots were being used as spies. After all, they were supposed to be keeping their clients secrets of things said in the throes of passion. He wondered just who and how much they had on the upper echelon of the military. It was the only reason he could think the Corps might be in bed with the bad guys. “Fine. That settles it, we’re going to play a married couple.”

Me and Sci-Fi Romance

As many of you know, today is Sexy Saturday at my yahoogroup. Today I will be promoting a lot of my stories as well as my sci-fi romance. See, I love sci-fi romance and as soon as I get some of the ones I have on my plate done, I will get going back to the sci-fi/fantasy realm. The reason? I really am in my element when I write these stories. They flow, they come easy and I never seem to be at a loss for ideas or just where my story needs to go.

In light of this, I am promoting my very first sci-fi romance, FLUKE today.

I hope you enjoy this little bit of the story.

Available NOW from eXtasy Books!

“This is a proximity alert. The alien vessel will be within tractor range in one minute.”

The soothing calm of Henrietta’s voice settled around me. Rousing myself from my stupor, I stood. I was still the chief mechanic and AI engineer of this ship. I had to conduct myself as such. Standing orders required that I had to be in the bay when the other ship came on board. It’s called the ‘just-in-case’ scenario. And rightly so, there might be anything, mechanical or not, set to explode.

As I walked down the corridor I suddenly had an overwhelming sense of tragedy, of having walked this way before, of committing the same crimes as were about to be committed. I tried to shake the feelings. The closer to the bay I walked, the worse they became. I leaned against the side of the corridor, bathed in sweat. Other crew members passed me and looked at me strangely.

I pushed myself away from the wall, my determination hardening around me like a shell. I needed to know what lay behind these feelings, and also what lay behind the bay door. There was an obvious connection; it was as if my feelings were centered inside there.

I nearly jumped out of my skin when I was dragged through a side access into a supply closet.

“What the…” I began as two able hands began to grope me through my blue government uniform. I knew those hands. “What do you think you are doing?” I breathed to the only man I had made love to in five years. And while we had an on-again, off-again relationship, I could always say that it was interesting. Aidan Chapel was one gorgeous hunk of a man with curly should length dark hair and aqua eyes with a muscle toned body that many of my shipmates wanted for themselves.

He told me once that the reason that people perceived him as handsome were his eyes in combination with his olive complexion. Add in his hair and he looked like Adonis. I smiled to myself…and he was all mine…not once in five years had he looked at any one else. And I never tried to second guess fate on this issue.

“What does it feel like I’m doing?” Aidan spun me around to him and looked me over while holding me against the wall. “You are one beautiful woman.”

I gazed into his amazing aqua eyes and smiled. I met Aidan when we first board the Lanko together as ship’s engineers. An Interview with Debbie Fritter/Debi Wilder

There will be a few times where I interview a dual personality...LOL! Today, I inteview my good friend, Debbie Fritter. Debbie and I have know each other for a few years. A while ago, she asked me to critique the first book of what would become the Blue Moon Magic series. I pouted because I wanted to play with her and the other two authors in the series. I came up with a secret brother and was very lucky they invited me to play. The Blue Moon Magic series from Loose Id still garners a lot of attention to this day.

So help me in welcoming my good friend, Debbie Fritter/Debi Wilder to XtraOrdinary Romance!

At what age did you realize you wanted to be a writer?

I dabbled a bit in high school when I took a creative writing class, at that time I did more poetry and songwriting. It wasn’t until a friend’s sister became published in the 1980s that I figured I could do it too…and I did.

What has been your biggest influence on becoming a writer?

I don’t know if I can pinpoint one particular person or event. I believe a writer was somewhere inside just waiting for the right moment, so maybe is was Cori that influenced me in the ‘80s.

How did you feel when you got your first publishing contract?

The third greatest thing to happen to me … behind giving birth to my son and then marrying the love of my life.

How many novellas/novels have you published to date? When did you have your first sale?

My tenth publication came out this past September by Red Rose Publishing. My first book was published in 2005 by Whiskey Creek Press.

Tell me about your latest release. Please include if it is part of a series or a stand alone book.

HEARTBEAT is the sequel to the adult romance, Eternal Pleasures. It tells Paige’s story about finding her own sexual freedom with Russell. See Paige feels responsible for putting her best friend, CJ, in the hospital. CJ was always giving herself pleasure, and Paige just couldn’t figure out what the big deal was and she kept criticizing her for it. When CJ was ready to come home, Paige promised her that she’d shed her inhibitions…problem is she doesn’t know how. But Dr. Russell Canterbury is more than happy to teach Paige his wicked ways. Russell wants to use Paige by making her thirst for him sexual and take his revenue on CJ for getting his closest friend killed.

What was your inspiration for this book?

It felt like Paige and Russell needed their own story, one that made them complete.

How do you categorize yourself: pantser or plotter?

If by “pantser” you mean by the seat of my pants, that’s me. I tend to let my characters guide me through their world. I may have an idea of where I want to go with a new book, but ultimately it’s the characters that give me direction…I only suggest.

How do you handle the editing/revision process?

As you know, I have a couple of writing buddies (Honey Jans, Sherry Derr-Wille, and yourself) I’ll run things past before submitting to the editor of that particular house. All my editors have free rein to change any doing with grammar—my big downfall—anything else they need to run past me first. I usually give them a quick turnaround, usually within 72 hours.

You’re received some fantastic reviews...how do you feel about them and why?

Thank you. I’ve received some not so glowing ones as well. Reviews are subjective to the reviewer. What one reviewer may not get, the next one will. I think it’s a way of knowing how your readers might look at your story.

Did anything odd happen while you were researching this story?

Not on this particular one, One of my other stories BY THE BLUE MOON, is based on a legend where I live about werewolves living in the area. That “what if” became a four book series, Blue Moon Series, with three other talented authors.

How do you get your ideas for your stories? Do they come all at one or in bits and pieces over a period of time?

From just about anywhere, and usually when I’m in the middle of my current project. I’ve got an idea in my database that came from a story on the front of one of our local papers about the roller derby, too bad I didn’t beat Drew Barrymore to the punch though. A another one came while my husband and I were on vacation in St. Louis and we were looking around Union Station. I get that glazed over look in my eye when it happens, my husband gives me a minute, and then we talk a few minutes about it. I usually get some sort of opening for a new idea. Sometimes characters will come to me first, then the rest follows. There’s no rhyme or reason to it, just happens.

If you could time travel, where would you go?

There are two time periods that are my favorite … medieval and Victorian eras. I’ve always loved the lure of castles and the whole idea of knights, etc. Riding through the countryside on a big black Fressian…SIGH. The Victorian age was pretty carefree and elegant in its own right. But then so was the Deco age (20s/30s).

Who and what are you reading now?

Right now I’m reading THE KEY by Jennifer Sturman. It’s an older Red Dress Ink book about a woman whose boys dies right in front of her during a meeting. The thing is everyone in the meeting wouldn’t have minded seeing him dead at one time or another. I picked it up at the local Dollar General. I’ve found that I’ve been picking up more chick lit mysteries these days.

Share a little bit of the ‘real’ you with our readers. What do you do besides writing? Any hobbies? Dark secrets?

I work full time as a legal secretary for a state agency. I’m married to a wonderful man, have four grown children and two beautiful grand-daughters. Being a horse lover, in the early spring I replaced my aged Arabian mare with a younger Quarter Horse gelding…it is definitely Men are from Mars, Woman are from Venus syndrome here. There’s a sort of peace being with horses that’s hard to explain, and I think every horse owner out there would agree.

What does your significant other think about your writing?

Randy’s probably my biggest fan…and critic. He looks at just about everything I write, letting me know where he doesn’t understand something. Although, sometimes he’s just way too literal for the situation…he’s more into the Grisham, Patterson, etc. type of books and sometimes doesn’t understand that romance is written differently. He’s always ready to take me where I need to go for research, making a vacation out of it. When I was writing A LEGACY THROUGH TIME, he said that if I was going to write about the Civil War, I was going to stand on the battlefields. It was amazing and you can’t believe the feeling you get being out there. The area hasn’t changed much over the years.

Debbie writes under two names, Debbie Fritter and Debi Wilder. Here’s there bios:

Debi Wilder

Although some like to think Ms. Wilder lives what she writes, it’s far from the truth. She has shelves filled with research books such as Sex Toy Tales, Lip Service and The Academy, which she gets from her sister-in-law from time to time. Thankfully her husband doesn’t think they have to try everything at least once!

Ms. Wilder loves the freedom that writing erotica brings. There’s a no holds barred attitude that suits her when her imagination and characters take over and run wild on the pages. And like her characters, Ms. Wilder believes romance and sex go hand in hand.

Ms. Wilder currently lives a quiet life with her husband nestled deep among the pyramids of Rock Lake.

Debbie Fritter

Ms. Fritter’s first book, The Perfect Match, was released in April 2005 by Whiskey Creek Press. It was followed by the award winning A Legacy Through Time, Fallen Angels Reviews 2005 Book of the Year, in August; Emerald, a short story in Tales From the Treasure Trove, 2006 EPPIE Winner for Best Anthology, in September 2005. In June 2005, Whiskey Creek Press Torrid published her award winning sci-fi erotica, S.P.A.R., which was voted 2005 Best Erotic Romance Ebook by www.Ecataromance.com. Her next release, By the Blue Moon, Book 1 of the Blue Moon Magic werewolf paranormal anthology, was released in September 2007 by Loose ID. In February of 2008, Whiskey Creek Press will release Joust in Time, a time-travel romance from 15th Century England to modern times. Ms. Fritter’s books are available in ebook and/or print formats, and can be purchased through her websites: http://www.debbiefritter.net/ / http://www.debiwilder.net/.

Ms. Fritter is a member of the Electronic Publishers Internet Connection, Romance Writers of America, and Wisconsin Romance Writers of America. Ms. Fritter became of member of PAN in August 2009. Ms. Fritter has lived in south-central Wisconsin all but six months of her life. She spent most of her days growing up in Madison where she was born, but never forgot about her childhood years in Lake Mills during the early 1960s. She and her husband, Randy, returned to Lake Mills approximately 4 years ago and plan to stay in the area until they retire to Oklahoma.

If it's one thing Debbie’s learned over the years of her life it's that you can never stop dreaming and reaching for the stars, because sooner or later you just may get to touch one and it'll bring you more happiness than you can ever imagine. She feels lucky, and blessed, that over the past couple of years to have been able to reach out and touch two stars ... and she’s still reaching for more.

Oh, Happy Day!

Wow! My twentieth book has just been released! Yeah, 20, and I couldn't believe it myself! I hope you enjoy this little peak into my science-fiction erotic romance, More Than Robotics, part of the ongoing Orchid series. Enjoy!!
More Than Robotics (Book 2 in the Orchid Series) By Lynn Crain Available NOW!!! eXtasy Books http://tinyurl.com/MoreThanRobotics-ebook BLURB: There were only three things in life that Captain Bekka Taylor wanted in life: 1) Command of a Warrior Class Star Marauder, 2) To grow old gracefully and 3) A lover who understood her fiery nature. She was accomplishing two out of her three objectives very nicely when an internal IUA conflict begins to encompasses the whole world as she knows it. Then Lieutenant Javed Malik comes aboard, clearly younger than she, with dreamy eyes and a secret meant only for her. But letting him in means getting rid of years of frustration and anguish and maybe her career. Can she survive another war or the smoldering looks from her junior officer sent to protect her 24/7? LOG LINE: Captain Bekka Taylor must learn to trust Lieutenant Javed Malik but in a world where mistrust is rampant, can she trust her feelings enough to love him? TEASER EXCERPT: I grabbed his hair and pulled him back to look at me. “Have you ever made love to someone while you’ve had this technology?” “Never. You’re my first.” He kissed me again and I knew the time for talking was long over. Moving once again to my breast, he sucked on one until the nipple popped into his hot mouth, lolling his tongue around the tight aureole before his gentle bite sent a shockwave of desire through me. All I could do was gasp as wave after wave of sensation surged over me making every nerve in my body tingle with pleasure. A fire was building in my crotch and I sensed I would die if Javed didn’t get there soon. Down, please, go down further, I thought, forgetting he heard me, as my breaths came in short gasps filled with pleasure. Patience. Good things… Screw the good things…it’s been way too long…I want the bad things. And I want them now. My hands grabbed his head and tried to push him down to my crotch. His hand moved further down my body reaching into my underwear, but he kept his eyes focused on mine for a moment longer. We don’t need these clothes any more, do we? As long as you take yours off as well. Deal. He was up in a flash, peeling his clothes off his cinnamon colored flesh, his cock jutted rock hard from his firm body. I reached up and stroked him, moving my mouth to caress the soft head of his penis, reveling in the groan he elicited as my tongue moved on the tender piece of flesh. You still have your clothes on. His thought conveyed a hint of heat as it singed my mind with its heat. I know. I continued to lick his cock, running my tongue along the rim before plopping the head into my mouth for a second time. I used my tongue as a weapon for sexual torture and if the movements of his body were any indication, I did quite well. No fair. I wanted to do you first. You’ll have your turn. That’s what you get for still being the one standing. I nipped and stroked his cock with a firm hand, continuing to rub him with my mouth, feeling him grow stronger and bigger with each lick and nip. I reached down between us and squeezed his balls and he groaned in pleasure. He placed his hands on the wall behind me and leaned even more into me, his cock sliding deeper down my throat. Your mouth feels so good…so right…lick the head some more. I perceived the want and need in his thoughts as I complied with his wishes as his body arched into me. I continued to nip and stroke his hard shaft with my hands and mouth, bringing even more moans. I returned to the purple mushroom head and rimmed him with my tongue yet again and again. I couldn’t wait to feel his tongue on my body, to feel him inside me as he turned me on like no other had ever done. Heck, I got a thrill sucking his cock, which had never been high on my list of priorities before. He was right, I had always been the one in control. I can hear you. His heavy breathing hot on the top of my head. This is the one time where it’s hard to shield another from our thoughts. Remember you said so yourself. Thoughts…feelings get so intertwined. I understand. I continued to lave him with my mouth wanting even more. I can’t wait any more. I need to be inside you now.

Another Day, Another Elf

Hi everyone!I know, I know...I haven't been on this blog for ages but I really do plan to rectify that fact.I wanted to announce a couple of things. One is my next elf book, Giselle's Elf is all complete and turned into the publisher. It is set to be released August 1. Yeah, you heard me right August 1 and it is a hot one as it brings together two people primed for love and sex. I think you'll like it! And I am fast at work on the next elf book, An Elf's Love as well as putting back together my Protector series as it got munched in computer crash. Do you know how hard it is to reconstruct something when you thought you had it complete? Sigh. It is an absolute pain! I also have an October 1 release called More Than Robotics. It is the continuation of the Orchid series which started in Fluke. It is a fast paced, kick-ass book set in space. I plan to do a lot more in this series and have started the 3rd book. Science fiction romance is actually my favorite to write and I am starting to gravitate more and more to writing strictly those types of books. I'm on vacation right now and will be yakking at you more later. You should check me out at The Many Shades blog. I'm running a summer contest there and you can win an iPod! Later... Lynn
