My Sexy Day ~ @oddlynn3 #LynnCrain #MySexySaturday #MySexyAuthors #MSS136

Welcome to week 136th week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is My Sexy Day. According to the post, this is the meme’s nod to Chick Lit…sorta…and that’s a quote. From there it went on cover that genre and more. Which made me happy as I really don’t have any but I do have flippant heroines all over the place.

I have a work in progress that I’m going to talk a little about, some to get your feedback and some to start ferreting out the best story possible. I hope you like it because it’s due very soon and since I’m going to be at RT all next week, I’m hoping I’ll have plenty of time to work it all out.

I honestly can’t remember if I tracked down my winner of my $25 Amazon gift certificate and I plan to track her down this weekend. I’ll make sure I do and the GC prize is in effect once again. I will be starting my Monday’s Austria Scoop, even though I don’t live there anymore I still have a lot of stories to share. I will also be starting My So-Called Writing Life again this week. Remember  to comment often on all of this month’s columns because I will be giving the $25 Amazon AC on the last day of the month. More on that in other columns.

Like I said, this week’s story is a new one. And it’s a time travel. And though it doesn’t really fit the theme, it’s better than most. I hope you enjoy it. Here’s the setup for Sealed With A Kiss:

Year: 2084
Time travel has become a very real possibility but not quite accomplished. However, when Detective Tandi Reynolds gets an old letter delivered to her at her precinct in Nevada, she doesn't know what to think of the cryptic note.

Dear Tandi,
There is a traitor in your midst and he's planning to assassinate the heir to the Austrian line. Please take care when ferreting him out of his hidey hole. It might be best if you come to my timeline to rid yourself of the vermin.

And while you may think me rather forward, I've sealed this letter with a kiss so you can verify my identity when we meet.

Yours,
Leopold Radetzky von Radetz

This can be devastating for the European Union as the Austrian heir is currently in line to be president of the Union as well as being one of the world’s leading business men.

But Tandi is a quick study and realizes that Leopold is correct. It's better to stop a problem before it starts. Getting to 1870s Vienna is the least of her worries as she is plunged into a world of royal intrigue, international politics and romantic liaisons.

Can she skillfully negotiate Europe of the past and keep her heart intact?

Please remember, this is a work-in-progress and basically from the first draft of this story. You are the first to see anything from this work. You’ll be seeing a lot of it in the coming weeks, if it fits the bill. Here’s my seven paragraphs from this amazing new story:

Tandi rubbed the back of her head. That was so not what she was expecting. The intense white light emitted from her mode of transportation had made her eyes hurt and now she felt she’d been on an all-night bender with the nastiness clinging to the inside of her mouth. She swallowed hard trying to dissipate the feeling and prayed she was close to her target destination: Lord Radetsky’s palace.
She couldn’t believe she was here nor when here was. True time travel had always been theoretically possible, but…she stretched her neck, trying not to think about it…she had a job to do then hopefully return to her well-ordered life.
Hell, who was she kidding? Once she got back, her life would be anything but well-ordered as she’d be the first person who had successfully travelled through time. Unfortunately, that would all be kept within the confines of the newly formed New World Order Time Travel Division. NOW was the group who was in charge of most of the world’s police forces and while not an optimum solution, or name for that matter, it was working in 2084.
Let’s face it, the only reason she was sent back her was that the letter had come to her and it was a direct threat on the man who would lead the European Union. She tried to get her bearings as she looked around her. It took a moment before she could see the lush grounds attached to a Viennese Palace. The gentle noise from the fountains calmed her nerves as she moved, a little unsteadily, toward it.
She soon found herself at the edge of a magnificent pool with flowing water, complete with cherubs and horses and…what were those things? She leaned over, cupped her hands and pulled the cool water over her face. It did little to dissipate the nausea she felt welling up. She now realized she should not have eaten that pastrami sandwich before she left and she heaved the contents of her stomach into the fountain.
The sharp intake of breath behind her, made her turn and sink to the ground with a slight moan. The handsome man with dark hair and blue eyes was talking to her but Tandi couldn’t understand a word he said. Any other time and she’d be drooling over how attractive the man was. Through her sickness haze, she reached up and pushed the small button behind her ear. To most, it would look like a mole but to her it would be a lifesaver. And the tone of the man couldn’t be more clear.
“Tell me you didn’t just puke in my fountain?” He gave a disgusted click of his tongue and frowned at her before moving to her side. His hand went to her head. “You’re clammy. Guess time travel is rough going, huh?” Hauling her up to her feet and then sweeping her up in his arms when her knees buckled. “I guess you’re the great Tandi Reynolds, the woman sent to save the world.”

I really love writing this story and the scheduled release date for this anthology is June 21, which happens to be my birthday. I’m so excited to have a new story in the works. What’s even more exciting is that I’ll have a lot of new things coming this summer. I can’t wait to share them all with you.

Something About Sexy ~ @oddlynn3 #MySexySaturday #MySexyAuthors #LynnCrain #MSS115

Welcome to week 115th week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is Something About Sexy. I have to be honest, I love this theme because it can be a lot of things ~ funny, quirky or even serious. Still, it took me a while to figure out just what I wanted to post today. I decided to look at some of my WIP that I am working on at the moment. Castle of Her Heart is one of my favorites.

Don’t forget to visit Monday’s Austria Scoop and a Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Life columns this week. Remember, if you comment on any of the posts, you might just win a $25 monthly Amazon gift certificate, which is awarded the week after the last day of any month.  Don’t forget to comment and often!

This is a story about a girl who falls for someone she considers out of his league. Please remember that this is a WIP in not edited. Here’s the setup:

Jesse McCray, producer of the hit TV show Debunking the Myth, finds herself in a bind and calls her friend and boss Andrea Meeker after she is ceremoniously dumped in Spitz, Austria by her crew when she disagrees with the star, Duncan Haines, about Hinterhaus Castle. Andrea’s cousin American born Austrian, Karl Eisler comes to her rescue but only if she promises to pretend to be his fiancée for a short period of time.

Having few options waiting for her in LA, Jess decides to take Karl up on his offer for some much needed down time. After all, what girl wouldn’t want to spend time in a castle with a handsome man in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Spending time with the man could just be the break she craves if she can keep her heart in check…

Here’s my seven sexy paragraphs, actually there’s an eighth line because it gave it more of a punch, from Castle of Her Heart:

Looking into his eyes, she wondered briefly what it would be like to be his real fiancée. She could image midnight trysts, long showers and intimate soaks in the tub. She could get used to this feeling very quickly. She unconsciously licked her lips, immediately arousing his attention.
“Do you know how kissable your mouth is?” His hand moved to her neck as his thumb caressed her lips. “I want to do this -” He leaned in and took little nips along the edges of her mouth. “- and this -” His tongue soothed where his had just nipped. “- and this -”
His mouth was on hers and she was lost. Instead of pushing him away, as she’d done previously, she found herself pulling him forward, returning kiss for gentle kiss. Her tongue tentatively warred with his, her body arched into the hard masculine feel of his as her heart pounded a rhythm older than time.
Karl pulled back, leaving a trail of kisses along the edge of her collarbone. “Positive I can’t join you in the shower?”
She groaned but leaned in closer.
His lips continued to blaze up her neck, his teeth catching her earlobe. “What modification will you require?”
     “Modification?” She felt confused, disoriented.
“You know to our arrangement - I’ve decided I want the full benefits package.”

My traditional ePublisher, eXtasy Books, is still having a sale on some of my books at their website. Today is the time to get them at a great discount and see if I write stories you might like. Don’t forget to pick up your copies!

WeWriWa ~ A WIP's 8 Sentences ~ @oddlynn3 #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This is week 13 for me with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

When I first woke up in my new body, I panicked and almost had a total mental breakdown. Until the nanites talked to me and life had suddenly become much, much easier. It took me a couple of months to actually understand everything they were telling me but once I could, it opened things up to unlimited possibilities. “You better hope that they don’t have any DNA walkers.”
“No one has ever made them work.”
I turn my eyes to look at his face. I can see down to the sub-atomic level if I really wanted. Yeah, I am that good.

This is a sci-fi story with just a hint of romance. It’s Camden Jayde’s story. She was a soldier who had a meet up with an IED. Then the government decided she was their own little guinea pig. She’s had extensive modifications that are physical and genetic. And that doesn’t’ include the nanotechnology flowing through her veins. It makes her smarter, stronger and better than any human alive. But there are two groups who want to claim her. One side had her modified for the good of all mankind. The other is a war-mongering group who has little but their own agenda in mind. Her mission: save mankind, save the species and if luck holds, save the world. All she has to do is to accept.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 From A WIP ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my eleventh time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. And apparently I can’t count if you look at last week’s number…LOL! Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

I sit looking at him through slit eyes. I just couldn’t tell him yet I’d made the internal battle seem much worse than it actually was at the moment. The nanites I have at my disposal would eclipse anything Alvarez could now throw at me. I knew it was in my best interest not to let that fact be known to anyone. Even Xander.
While this man did all the programming to make my enhancements interface with my own biology quite well, he also inadvertently made them do one unexpected thing. In order for everything to be fully integrated, the enhancements, the nanites, my polymer structures, I had to teach myself to control them at the level where they interfaced with my biology. The fact this enabled me to do much more than they had ever imagined.

Again, this story has a little romance thought it is a science fiction novel that has more action. The heroine, Camden Jayde, was a soldier who met with an IED. She was then modified without her permission. The modifications done are both physical and genetic. Now she has nanotechnology flowing in her veins along with all the normal components in blood. The faction paying the bill modified her for the good of mankind but the military has other ideas. Those ideas serve no one but their own war mongering purpose. Her mission: save mankind, save the species and if luck holds, save the world. All she has to do is to accept.

WeWriWa ~ The Voyage of the Inara Marue ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my eighth time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

Glancing at him, she totally stopped all movement and went into an almost trance-like state. “Accessing all internal memory and data storage units regarding nanite invasion.” Xander watched her as she ran through all her checks regarding her internal systems. “Internal grid number 1 is holding its own and injecting counter measures. Internal grid number 2 is holding its own and injecting counter measures with a class 2 configuration. Internal grid number 3 is in a major conflict situation. They are trying to get control over my central neural net. I am being flooded with class 4 nanites. Shutdown is imminent.”

There’s some romance in this science fiction novel but the story is more about the action. The heroine, Camden Jayde, was a soldier who met with an IED. She was then modified without her permission. The modifications are both physical and genetic. And now she has nanotechnology flowing in her veins along with her blood. The faction paying the bill modified her for the good of mankind but the military has other ideas. Those ideas serve no one but their own war mongering purpose. Her mission: save mankind, save the species. All she has to do is to accept.

Loving the Scotsman ~ Wouldn't It Be Sexy ~ @oddlynn3 #Saturday7 #LynnCrain #MySexySaturday

It’s week 22 at My Sexy Saturday and I’d like to give you a warm welcome.

I’m back at my desk in Vienna, Austria this week. We had a wonderful time with family and friends for a couple of weeks. Still, it’s great to be at my own computer putting together a MSS post.

First, I just loved the Hot Mojave Knights conference. It was wonderful reconnecting with people I know and love. Being with other writers is one of the most exhilarating experiences that I know. I enjoyed each and every minute of it. Here’s a shout out to the wonderful authors and people from eXtasy Books: Adriana Kraft, Tina Haveman and Viola Grace to name a few. And I can't forget my BFF, Brynn McClain, who's a new author and was at her first conference with that moniker. I had a fabulous time!

Here’s the recap on MSS: My Sexy Saturday is a weekly blog hop where authors share sexy snippets of their books with 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs. Each week we aim to entertain readers through our snippets and excerpts posted. This is for our readers as we value and appreciate each one of you.

Also, to get you prime for a visit to Scotland, I’m including another picture from one of my wonderful trips there. It is one of the most wonderful places on earth and I wish everyone could visit it.

I am sharing another snippet from my finished book called Loving the Scotsman. I haven’t heard back from the agent but you all will be the first to know. Again, this is a story told in 1st person POV from both the heroine and hero. The lovers are being drawn together after 15 years apart. This week we’re staring Chapter 2 of the story. Here’s my sexy 7 sentences for the week. Enjoy!

“Aye, it is. Again, may I help you?” The short, non-descript man stood there patiently as if I were the only person in the world.
I took a deep breath. Surely, Monica put down the address wrong. But I knew the print wasn’t hers. This couldn’t be where he lived, at least, not the man I knew.  “Does a Logan MacKenzie live here?”

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my eighth time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

Sighing deeply, she slowly turned to look at him more fully. "The nanites they gave me are different from anything I've had before. I can't really explain it. It's like I'm looking at my body and its function down a long tunnel. It's as if I'm an observer…like a war is happening in my body…and I have no control over anything."
Startled, he didn't like what he was hearing. "Do you know who's winning?"
"I am,” she answered with another lopsided grin.

This is a sci-fi novel with some romance, not a lot. It’s more about the story. The heroine, Camden Jayde is a soldier who was modified without her permission. The faction paying the bill modified her for the good of mankind but the military has other ideas. Those ideas serve no one but their own purposed. Her mission: save mankind, save the species. All she has to do is to accept.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my eighth time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

Xander came and sat next to her on the bed. He wished circumstances were different because every time he sat next to her he hoped she couldn't hear the rapid thumping of his heart. He wasn't the first doctor to be enamored with a patient and he wouldn't be the last. He knew if he could bide his time things might be different. "May I touch you?"
She threw him a lopsided grin. "That depends on what you had in mind, doc."
It took everything in him not to react.

This is a science fiction novel with romantic elements. The story is about a woman who was modified without her permission, both physically and genetically. The modifications are extensive and include eyes, limbs and nanotechnology in the form of nanites flowing through her. She has a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different and it’s not for the good of mankind. She has to fight not only for herself but the whole of humanity and to save the species.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my seventh time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

"Without a doubt. He was actually in our unit in the war." She leveled her gaze on him. "If truth be told, he was the one who sacrificed me to the IED god. He wasn't one of your nicer soldiers. He should have been a defendant in some of the abuse trials that took place after the first wave. I actually thought he was dead and that was why he wasn't listed on any roster when I finally got around to reading the court transcripts."
He knew his shock registered on his face when he heard her chuckle.

This is a sci-fi novel with romantic elements. The story is about a woman who was physically and genetically modified without her permission. The modifications are extensive and include eyes, limbs and nanotechnology in the form of nanites flowing through her. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different and it’s not for the good of mankind. She has to fight not only for herself but the whole of mankind.

Loving the Scotsman ~ A Wicked Sexy Game ~ @MySexySaturday #MSS19 #Saturday7 #LynnCrain

It’s week 19 at My Sexy Saturday and welcome.

My Sexy Saturday is a weekly blog hop where authors share sexy snippets of their books with 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs. Each week we aim to entertain readers through our snippets and excerpts posted. This is for our readers as we value and appreciate each one of you.

We’re moving on this week from my Santa’s Elves series for the moment. I promise we will revisit it at a later time. This week we’re going to one of my WIP that has recently been retitled to Loving the Scotsman. It’s going through major renovations right now and I’d love to see if you think I’m heading in the right direction. This is a story told in 1st person POV from both the heroine and hero. It’s a unique approach and I hope you like it. When the story starts, the lovers are being drawn together after a 15 year hiatus. And yes, the picture is from Scotland. It was taken at the farm we stayed at on both my trips to that wonderful country. Here’s my sexy 7 sentences for the week. Enjoy!

“What? No pithy comeback…nothing…you’re just going to lay your head there and say nothing?” She snorted as she always does, the sound unladylike and ill-mannered. “I thought you’d have at least some smart-ass comment to make.”
The table felt cool against my cheek. I tried to concentrate on its chill while I plotted my response. Maybe saying nothing would be better in this case but I doubted that scenario. “Let’s make sure we’re talking about ‘the stud,’ if you know what I mean.”

I hope that this book will find a home very, very soon and I’ll keep you posted!

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my sixth time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

Xander sighed in exasperation. "How, Cam, just describe to me exactly how this was different?"
"Well…the first thing he did was chain my foot to the bed." She watched him momentarily before continuing. "That's when he touched me. I felt a sting when he touched me and I reacted." She swallowed hard and pulled her gown down to reveal the ugly red welt which had formed.
He immediately was next to her.

This is a sci-fi novel with romantic elements. It’s about a woman who was physically and genetically modified without her permission. The modifications are extensive and include eyes, limbs and nanotechnology in the form of nanites flowing through her. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different and it’s not for the good of mankind. WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #Lynn Crain @oddlynn3

Hi everyone!

This week is my third time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

"Thrown out? I doubt that very much, sir." He reached into his jacket, muscles bulging around the tight fabric and drew out an envelope. "Executive Order 2163-1349 covers everything. We have been given the authority to take this piece of equipment from you and do with it what we will."
Hell, I was just a piece of equipment now. Since when had I lost my humanity? Even as my brain became more scrambled, I knew what I was.

The novel is a sci-fi with romantic elements, It’s about a woman who was physically and genetically modified without her permission. Her modifications are many, like limbs, eyes and nanites flowing through her body. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different and it’s not for the good of mankind.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This is my first time ever with the Weekend Writing Warriors. I’m sharing my  8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

I can't remember the last time I cried. Maybe it was the day they told me I would die. Maybe it was the day they told me I would become something no person had ever been before. Maybe…maybe…I should just forget about the when and worry about the why. Or maybe I shouldn't as I'm sure they would analyze the whole notion of me crying until there was nothing left to analyze.
But right now, I look at them through pried open eyes while my chin is in my chest, watching their every move with my enhanced eyesight and wonder if they even know or understand just what they have created. I don't even think they know I'm watching them. I know they are nervous…maybe that's not quite the right word…paranoid would be a better word choice.

This novel is a sci-fi with romantic elements and is about a woman who was modified without her permission. Her modifications are many, like limbs, eyes and nanites flowing through her body. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different.
Hope you enjoyed my Sunday 8.
Thanks and see you next time!

Sneak Peek Sunday ~ WIP ~ @oddlynn3 #SPeekSunday

Today is another Sneak Peak Sunday. I bring you a second passage from my work in progress, Castle of Her Heart. This time it’s from Chapter 2 and as this is an engagement for convenience story, this is the part where they talk about the deal. Hope you enjoy!

The tone of Karl’s voice changed and she knew this was the real problem. “Did you love her?”
The silence was practically deafening. “I might have thought I did at one time. But no, I didn’t love her and I promised my mother to only marry for love.”
Not only was the woman practical and frugal but wise as well. “As one should.”
Jess turned to look out the window, speculating if she would ever find that most nobel of sentiments. Maybe this was just the vacation she needed. What harm would it do to play someone’s finance? After all, she’d seen actors take similar roles all the time. “What’s in it for me?” She couldn’t believe she asked the question.
The wicked smile was back as his blue eyes smoldered with desire. “That’s the spirit. All room and board as your return ticket to the States. First class of course.”
“Of course.” Turning her head once again to gaze at the castle coming ever closer. His warm hands rested on her shoulders, his fingers giving a gentle massage. “Let’s seal the bargain with a kiss,” he whispered close to her ear.

Sneak Peek Sunday ~ A WIP ~@oddlynn3 #SPeekSunday

Hi Everyone!

It’s been quite a while since I’ve given anyone a sneak peak of something I’m working on...this one I’m putting the final touches on...and it’s ready to go to the publisher. It's called Castle of Her Heart and takes place in Austria. Sure hope you enjoy!

Set Up: Jesse McCray has just discovered that the cast and crew of the TV show she works on has abandoned her in the Wachau Valley of Austria.

“Ms. McCray, are you all right?” the man questioned in impeccable English.
She frowned at him. “Of course, I’m not all right but I will survive. Did they say where they were going?”
“No, Ms. McCray. They did say that you would take care of the bill.” The desk clerk waited patiently a moment before handing her a stack of paper. “This is a complete accounting of your five day stay for all seven rooms.”
Jesse gazed at the number at the bottom of the bill and knew she was in trouble. She swallowed hard and held up one finger. “Just give me a minute please.”
She turned away from the man and frantically dug her cell phone out of her pack. She quickly dialed the person who got her into this mess. Surprisingly, her friend answered on the first ring. “Andrea, we have a big problem here.”
“I know, sweetheart. I am so sorry Duncan fired you.”

Unlikely Paradise - Six Sentence Sunday

Another Six Sentence Sunday is here. We’re still working through my WIP, Unlikely Paradise, and this entry comes from Chapter 5. For those who are here for the first time, here’s a little recap of what’s happened so far.

Reporter Zextra Harrison has uncovered the story of a lifetime. Too bad there are those who want to cut her life short because of what she’s uncovered. She’s been kidnapped and sent to the pleasure planet Bliss4521 for a total memory wipe. Kemper Green is a doctor who has been demoted because of his sense of duty. Now he repairs robotic humans as his sentence. He’s bidding his time until he can leave when Zex is brought in for repair. Tied up and drugged. When she sheds a tear, he realizes he’s poised to commit the most henious of crimes, turning a human into a robotic type creature. Again, he puts himself on the side of right and whisks Zex away to an undisclosed destination. This is part of the conversation they have when she wakes up.

Enjoy!

Kemp rubbed his eyes. “Sounds like they took her to get you. Even exchange. I would say the fact that he gave you the information tells you he’s leaning toward the trust column.”
“Maybe. I just don’t know any more. I mean what you said about people living in their own little bubble makes sense.”

Another Six Sentence Sunday

Hi all!

Hope you’re ready for another Six Sentence Sunday...I know I am...this week, we’re with my WIP, Unlikely Paradise. I plan to share two sets of six sentences from each chapter of the book. It’s almost done but I’ll share until all the excerpts are used up.

"Where are we?" Her husky whisper would have been sexy if her throat hadn't been so dry.
"Are you sure you really want to know?" His green eyes bore into hers.
Gazing around the room, she realized they were in some flea-bitten, sleazy place. The underbelly of a pleasure planet wasn't foreign ground to her but this was definitely not the place she had imagined waking up in once she’d completed her story.

See you next week for another Six Sentence Sunday!

Six Sentence Sunday - Unlikely Paradise - Third Time A Charm

Pardon the dust everyone. It wasn't until I tried to share all the Six Sentence Sunday people that I realized this blog was sorely lacking in share buttons. Unfortunately, no matter how I tried, I couldn't get any share buttons to take. So I decided to try on some different skin to see what it looks like. Unfortunately, that will be happening a far portion of Sunday. Tell me what you think of the new digs when you comment. I'd appreciate knowing if I totally screwed up or if I might have gotten it close to being right. Sometime soon, it will be matched to my website and the blog will then be beautiful!

Here's my snippet for Six Sentence Sunday and I hope you enjoy. I know I really enjoy writing this story. It's almost done now and we'll be moving on to greener pastures soon. I figure another three passages and Sundays at most before it's up on Amazon.

He caught a glimpse of something shiny and leaned in to get a closer look. Kemper stood straight up. “Impossible,” he muttered more to himself than anyone in the room. He looked back again when those beautiful blue eyes blinked rapidly.
Tears – droids didn’t have tear ducts and therefore couldn’t cry. It was the only attribute that had yet to be  perfected.

Hope you enjoyed a glimpse into my WIP...see you next week!

Six Sentence Sunday - Unlikely Paradise - Take Two

Hi everyone!

I'm back again with my WIP Unlikely Paradise and a second round of Six Sentence Sunday. Last week I introduced you to the heroine, Zextra Harrison. Today, I introduce you to the hero, Kemper Green. Enjoy!

Kemper Green felt every one of his thirty-eight years the night they’d thrown him on the transport for reassignment to the paradise planet called Bliss 4521. He’d known the risks of helping the poor and others at the hidden clinic in the shantytown near the spaceport. He knew and didn’t care because he was an old-fashioned type of doctor who believed in the Hippocratic Oath.
Little good it did him as he’d ended up in a place far worse than where he’d started. This town had a nefarious undercurrent of pure evil even though the corps tried to convince him otherwise. He understood the powers that be had more money than God himself and today wealth spoke more than any honor bound tradition in place for thousands of years.

I'll be back again next week with another installment of Unlikely Paradise...hope you have a great one!
