WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This is my fourth time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here's 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

My old Captain turned around with more hatred in his eyes than I’d ever seen. "You're on your way to sleepy time, kitten. Your body is being flooded with nanites and other bots so that your systems can no longer communicate with one another. They're shutting you down."
I gasped. "I'm - m - m – really - dying?"
"In a way." Xander came over and smoothed my hair away from my brow.

The novel is a sci-fi with romantic elements, It’s about a woman who was physically and genetically modified without her permission. Those modifications are extensive and include eyes, limbs and nanotechnology in the form of nanites flowing through her. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different and it’s not for the good of mankind.
Hope you enjoyed my Sunday 8. Now to get to the other WeWriWa authors this week, just click on the logo or paste this link into your browser and visit all the wonderful authors writing this weekend.
Thanks and see you next time!

  11. That's what we're waiting to find out, Millie. Then again, it wouldn't be much of a story if I let her die in the first couple of pages...take that back...it would if it were a vampire story. LOL!

But this is an enhanced human story. Something like what you see in Elysium.

Glad you stopped by to read my snippet!

  12. This doesn't sound like a nice way to die but what does he means by "in a way"?

  13. Hi Linda,

It's like turning off a light switch. They had the ability to turn her off if necessary. Or at least turn off the nanites running through her body. By doing that, they put her to sleep.

But you don't get that in only 8 sentences because I'm only picking out the juicy tidbits to share.

    Thanks for stopping by.
