Welcome to week 126^th week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is A Sexy Vampire. Again, the theme says it all and while I love vampires, I really only have story that fits the theme.

I’m still on deadline and will be posting all the things I was supposed to get to this week today. That means there will be a new Monday’s Austria Scoop and Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Life that you can comment on. Remember to comment often as I will be giving out a $25 gift certificate on Monday, February 1. I realized I needed to give everyone as much time as possible since it’s a monthly pool. This week’s story was at one time part of an anthology at eXtasy Books called Sanguinary Seductions. Right now, it’s going through an edit so it can go back on sale in the near future. The unfortuately thing about anthologies is that when one person wants out, the anthology falls apart. The good thing about this happening at eXtasy is that the authors who want to continue to have their stories for sale are given the option of having that story as a single title release with your specifics on the same anthology cover. I opted to stay for all my anthology stories there. Needless to say, I love eXtasy and they have tons of great authors. Anyway,  here’s the setup for A Tale of Opposites:

Two brothers torn apart by misunderstanding, two sisters bound to them by fate. One extraordinary story of how they find each other, love and a mission to keep all of humanity safe.

Here’s my seven paragraphs:

“You killed my family…you made me who I am…do you understand that?”

I looked at her beautiful form once more and hunkered down to look at her full in the face. “Look at my face real good, girl. Tell me what you see.” I narrowed my eyes at her, watching her look me over. It took only moments for her eyes show fear and her face go white. “Now you understand.” I stood once again. I could hear her harsh breathing and feel her quite sobs. “Do you have anywhere to go?” I could feel her shake her head. “All right. Get up and come with me.”

She just sat there sobbing. Frustrated, I reached down and pulled her up. Light as a feather, I nearly tossed her up in the air without trying. “We need to go,” I said more gently and pulled her close, willing some of my strength to invade her body. Sometimes it was good to have the strength of a dozen men and the power of suggestion, sometimes not so much.

Picking up her pack, I reached for her hand. Slowly, we began the short trek to my room in the local inn. It was not much, but it was a roof over our head and would give us both some much needed rest. If what I felt was any indication of Clarise’s state of mind and body, I knew she needed more than rest. I was not sure if I could provide just what this woman would need to make her get over this reckless task she had set out for herself.

Pushing open the door to the inn, we were assaulted with the sights and sounds of so called civilization. Sizing up the room, I realized quickly that no one would challenge me whatsoever. Taking out a coin, I tossed it to the innkeep as I passed. “Please send your best meal and ale to my room as soon as you can.” The man nodded and continued to pour ale for those at the bar, all the while yelling at the barmaid to prepare a tray.

Quickly, we stood at the bottom of the stair. Leaning in closely, I whispered to my companion, “Can you make it up the stairs, Clarise?” When I received no answer, I swung her up in my arms, pack and all, taking the stairs two at a time. Once in my room, I sat her down gently on the bed and removed her cloak while leaving her pack by the door. The haunted look in her eyes said it all. Damn him, I swore under my breath.

Turning toward me, her eyes welled up with tears. “If not you, who killed my family?”

This is one of the items I want to complete before I move. We’ll see how much I can accomplish before that happens. But I did say to some fellow writers that I find myself more motivated during stressful times. Weird as that may seem.

Welcome to week 119^th week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is Imagine Sexy and frankly, this could be the theme for every week. Writers of sexy romance know what sexy is and can imagine it without even thinking about it. This week I’m returning to a novella that will be coming out soon. It was originally in an anthology, that's the cover you see, but the publisher decided it was time to release the books as individual novellas. It’s called A Tale of Opposites and it’s a paranormal book. Just the kind I like best to write. In this snippet, you’ll see exactly how the hero views the heroine.  

I apologize for not doing Monday’s Austria Scoop and Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Life columns this week. I along with everyone else in the world was reeling from the recent events in Europe. Unfortunately, I felt I was too angry as well as close to the events to have a good perspective to write informatively about what I was feeling. I will do so this week and you can expect to see me both Monday and Tuesday.

Here’s my seven paragraphs from A Tale of Opposites:

She hesitated just briefly before coming up the dark alley way. I could tell by her determination there would be nothing which would put her off. She had a mission and something told me I was her mission.

“What are you following me for?” I questioned quietly as I stepped out of the shadows. I knew exactly how I looked all in black with two black streaks in my otherwise white hair and my coat flaring around me. But my young follower cared naught for how I looked. It was evident on her face.

“You do not scare me,” she answered, even though her voice quavered in response.

“I do not?” I questioned yet again and slowly circled her like an animal with its prey. Some would call me an animal, but those who really know understand that I am the least of their worries. There is another more evil than I who walks these streets and this world.

“You do not.” She stood tall and did not move. She knew that I was assessing her and her strengths. Even mere humans have strengths.

I circled her more slowly this time, taking in every detail of her petite frame and the heavy pack she had set on the ground next to her. I towered over her, but still she did not back down and stood tall during my slow inspection of her. Breathing in her clean scent, I picked up her hair and felt its silkiness slide through my fingers. It was amazing that I still loved the feel and smell of a woman. And this one was extra special, I could tell.

“I need to know why you are following me.” I came to stand in front of her and raised her face to look into her eyes. They were violet. I dropped her like a hot coal. She was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen and one that could lead to my downfall. I could not let this one get to me as I had to accomplish one last thing before I let the blessed sleep claim me forever.

Welcome to week 107^th week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is Sexy Has It. What I took this to mean was that sexy is important and that sexy can make or break a story. Everyone has their own idea of just what sexy is but the whole point of it is that it can make your heart race and your brain to go haywire.

Today’s story is one that is fairly old now. I’m doing a re-edit for my publisher and hope to have it available soon. Here’s the short and sweet setup:

Here’s my seven sexy paragraphs from A Tale of Opposites:

“You are a nightwalker, preferring the night to the day, always in shadow when you can, thinking no one can see you. All anyone need do is to look for you and they will find you.”

I breathed heavily. This girl knew more about me than it seemed I knew about myself. “What else have you heard?” I finally managed to get out.

“That you need this.” Leaning in, her mouth captured mine, her tongue running over my bottom lip before nipping it. If I had not known she was innocent, this kiss would have me thinking otherwise.

I pulled back from her once more. “Do you really understand that for which you ask?”

A lazy smile crossed her face. “I do…I really do.”

I did not understand this turnabout and was not sure I really wanted to do so. A man has to take what he can in this heathen world. “I have to ask…you understand that I may not be able to help myself and may bite you…and you truly understand this?”

She nodded, eyes shining. “I truly do, m’lord.”

Welcome to week 80th week of My Sexy Saturday. The week’s theme is One Sexy Night.  Nights are my favorite time of the day and it might be because there were years where I actually worked the graveyard shift. It was there, reading books on my breaks or ‘lunch’ hours that I knew writing was what I wanted to do all my life. And here I am.

My assistant is going to be helping with it so that I’m not so spacey about it. And here’s why…when I am writing and doing research…my heart and soul is invested in it 100%. That doesn’t mean you aren’t important, it means that I only have eyes for the writing I’m doing. Everything else just fades away except that. I do have to apologize as it makes me look uncaring about you all. The fact is I care very much and want to make each of you happy with what I do. Hopefully, you all can understand that.

The weather in Austria has been good but some days are cold still. Right now I’m looking at the sun streaming in my window and the hubster is chomping at the bit to get out into it. And I’ve been writing. Again. Guess it’s shower time and out the door. After this post of course. LOL!

This week’s theme is about a night time romance or at least a totally hot scene involving the night. I have one story that I thought would fit the bill called A Tale of Opposites. It’s about two sisters and two brothers. It was part of the Sanguinary Seductions anthology published a few years ago at eXtasy Books but will become a stand-alone as soon as I get the re-edits back to them. The scene is one where they are setting up camp in the early evening. Here’s the setup and it is short and sweet:

This is another novella and like I said before, I love writing the shorter stories. I try to do that between the bigger stories and it enables me to write in a lot of different genres. Believe it or not, this is actually a paranormal story about vampires, witches, shield maidens and legends. Like many of my books, it will be found at eXtasy Books. Enjoy my snippet of seven paragraphs!

            Swallowing hard, I turned to look at him. “Look—you have been dragging me around for almost three weeks now and not once have I seen you take a life without provocation. Everyone you have killed would have killed you if they had a chance. Then there is the fact…” I trailed off not knowing if this would be a good or bad thing to say.

            “Why do you not just say it? I would rather know what you are thinking than have to kill you in the night in self- defense.”

            I smiled then. There would be no secrets between us. “Again, I am not stupid. It would serve no purpose for me to try and kill you. It would result in my death.”

            “And?” He stood there waiting patiently.

            I had never seen this man have patience in any form. “I have yet to see you feed.”

            His rapid intake of breath scared me and he tilted my head back to look into my eyes. “I have never seen anyone with violet eyes. Yours are quite unique and quite observant. I do not kill to feed and do not feed to kill. There are other ways to get what I require.”

            Suddenly, my heart beat rapidly in my chest, his nearness touching me in ways I could not fathom. Glancing at him sideways, I realized I had an attraction for him. It was something new, something I had not had in a very long time. There was something in the way he looked at me, the way he touched me that felt wicked and right.
