Welcome to week 119^th week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is Imagine Sexy and frankly, this could be the theme for every week. Writers of sexy romance know what sexy is and can imagine it without even thinking about it. This week I’m returning to a novella that will be coming out soon. It was originally in an anthology, that's the cover you see, but the publisher decided it was time to release the books as individual novellas. It’s called A Tale of Opposites and it’s a paranormal book. Just the kind I like best to write. In this snippet, you’ll see exactly how the hero views the heroine.  

I apologize for not doing Monday’s Austria Scoop and Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Life columns this week. I along with everyone else in the world was reeling from the recent events in Europe. Unfortunately, I felt I was too angry as well as close to the events to have a good perspective to write informatively about what I was feeling. I will do so this week and you can expect to see me both Monday and Tuesday.

Here’s the setup of my short story, A Tale of Opposites:

Two brothers torn apart by misunderstanding, two sisters bound to them by fate. One extraordinary story of how they find each other, love and a mission to keep all of humanity safe.

Here’s my seven paragraphs from A Tale of Opposites:

She hesitated just briefly before coming up the dark alley way. I could tell by her determination there would be nothing which would put her off. She had a mission and something told me I was her mission.

“What are you following me for?” I questioned quietly as I stepped out of the shadows. I knew exactly how I looked all in black with two black streaks in my otherwise white hair and my coat flaring around me. But my young follower cared naught for how I looked. It was evident on her face.

“You do not scare me,” she answered, even though her voice quavered in response.

“I do not?” I questioned yet again and slowly circled her like an animal with its prey. Some would call me an animal, but those who really know understand that I am the least of their worries. There is another more evil than I who walks these streets and this world.

“You do not.” She stood tall and did not move. She knew that I was assessing her and her strengths. Even mere humans have strengths.

I circled her more slowly this time, taking in every detail of her petite frame and the heavy pack she had set on the ground next to her. I towered over her, but still she did not back down and stood tall during my slow inspection of her. Breathing in her clean scent, I picked up her hair and felt its silkiness slide through my fingers. It was amazing that I still loved the feel and smell of a woman. And this one was extra special, I could tell.

“I need to know why you are following me.” I came to stand in front of her and raised her face to look into her eyes. They were violet. I dropped her like a hot coal. She was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen and one that could lead to my downfall. I could not let this one get to me as I had to accomplish one last thing before I let the blessed sleep claim me forever.

Welcome to week 104^th week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme is Late Summer Sexy. And in looking at my books, I was surprised that I don’t have really have one summer book. At least, not late summer. I do have one, which happens in summer in the desert. So, I’ve chosen to highlight it this time.

My blog is normally hopping with Monday’s Austria Scoop where I talk about Austria and Tuesday’s My So-Called Writing Life where I talk writing and life. I say normally because this week was anything but normal. If you looked at my author page on Facebook, you’ll see why it was a trying week for me. Along with the heat, I’ve really not wanted to do much this past week.

Today’s story is one that has a very special place in my heart because it is my first story published ever. It had been requested by a publisher and just as quickly rejected. Another publisher friend of mine kept bugging me until I sent it. The rest is history. Here’s the setup:

Every woman holds deep inside her a dark fantasy.  Some dream of forced sex, some dream of being tied up, others dream of being swept away to a place from which she can’t escape, some dream of places and times in the past and others still dream about the forgotten realms where vampires, werewolves, elves and more exist…no woman knows how she’s going to react until it happens.  And sometimes that fear and anger at being controlled turns into a wanton desire that even the most frigid ice queen cannot deny. 

Here’s my seven sexy paragraphs from Captive Illusions: Iain and Kelsey:

Kelsey’s heart thudded in her chest. This man could turn her on with a look, a touch, a kiss…but there was something more here than his seduction of her. She had to decide here and now if this was what she wanted…would always want. “Don’t I get some say in the matter?” she managed to whisper.

Iain drew back and looked at her. “Are you sure that you really want to know? Wouldn’t you rather be loved and sexually satisfied? And yes…if you don’t want me, I will leave you alone…even though it may kill me in the process.”

She knew she deserved to know everything…there was no other way that he would be able to keep her. She frowned then. “If I am to make an informed choice…then yes…I need to know everything about you and why I am so drawn to you. And I think you’re being way too dramatic.”

He reached up and smoothed her honey-colored hair from her face. “My name is Iain MacEwan. I was born in the year of our Lord, 1195 and turned when I was in the prime of my life.”

Kelsey gasped. “What are you saying, Iain?”

“You’ve had your fantasy in more ways than one, m’lady. The very fact that you even wished an encounter with a forbidden being turned me on.” He watched her face and saw things slowly sink in.

“Who…no…what are you?” Kelsey questioned, almost fearing the answer.

This story happens in the hot southwestern desert in the late summer time. Though it’s not really the sexy setting one imagines when talking about sexy summer stories, it is definitely up there as far as the sexy goes. She straddled him, placing her hands on either side of his face and into his hair. Leaning in, she nipped him lightly on the lips, teasing him until he responded. The sensation, so utterly unlike anything he’d felt before, made him unsure how to react. However, his body had no qualms, knowing exactly what it wanted.
