WeWriWa ~ A WIP's 8 Sentences ~ @oddlynn3 #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This is week 13 for me with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

When I first woke up in my new body, I panicked and almost had a total mental breakdown. Until the nanites talked to me and life had suddenly become much, much easier. It took me a couple of months to actually understand everything they were telling me but once I could, it opened things up to unlimited possibilities. “You better hope that they don’t have any DNA walkers.”
“No one has ever made them work.”
I turn my eyes to look at his face. I can see down to the sub-atomic level if I really wanted. Yeah, I am that good.

This is a sci-fi story with just a hint of romance. It’s Camden Jayde’s story. She was a soldier who had a meet up with an IED. Then the government decided she was their own little guinea pig. She’s had extensive modifications that are physical and genetic. And that doesn’t’ include the nanotechnology flowing through her veins. It makes her smarter, stronger and better than any human alive. But there are two groups who want to claim her. One side had her modified for the good of all mankind. The other is a war-mongering group who has little but their own agenda in mind. Her mission: save mankind, save the species and if luck holds, save the world. All she has to do is to accept.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 From A WIP ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my eleventh time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. And apparently I can’t count if you look at last week’s number…LOL! Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

I sit looking at him through slit eyes. I just couldn’t tell him yet I’d made the internal battle seem much worse than it actually was at the moment. The nanites I have at my disposal would eclipse anything Alvarez could now throw at me. I knew it was in my best interest not to let that fact be known to anyone. Even Xander.
While this man did all the programming to make my enhancements interface with my own biology quite well, he also inadvertently made them do one unexpected thing. In order for everything to be fully integrated, the enhancements, the nanites, my polymer structures, I had to teach myself to control them at the level where they interfaced with my biology. The fact this enabled me to do much more than they had ever imagined.

Again, this story has a little romance thought it is a science fiction novel that has more action. The heroine, Camden Jayde, was a soldier who met with an IED. She was then modified without her permission. The modifications done are both physical and genetic. Now she has nanotechnology flowing in her veins along with all the normal components in blood. The faction paying the bill modified her for the good of mankind but the military has other ideas. Those ideas serve no one but their own war mongering purpose. Her mission: save mankind, save the species and if luck holds, save the world. All she has to do is to accept.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my eighth time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

Xander came and sat next to her on the bed. He wished circumstances were different because every time he sat next to her he hoped she couldn't hear the rapid thumping of his heart. He wasn't the first doctor to be enamored with a patient and he wouldn't be the last. He knew if he could bide his time things might be different. "May I touch you?"
She threw him a lopsided grin. "That depends on what you had in mind, doc."
It took everything in him not to react.

This is a science fiction novel with romantic elements. The story is about a woman who was modified without her permission, both physically and genetically. The modifications are extensive and include eyes, limbs and nanotechnology in the form of nanites flowing through her. She has a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different and it’s not for the good of mankind. She has to fight not only for herself but the whole of humanity and to save the species.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my seventh time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

"Without a doubt. He was actually in our unit in the war." She leveled her gaze on him. "If truth be told, he was the one who sacrificed me to the IED god. He wasn't one of your nicer soldiers. He should have been a defendant in some of the abuse trials that took place after the first wave. I actually thought he was dead and that was why he wasn't listed on any roster when I finally got around to reading the court transcripts."
He knew his shock registered on his face when he heard her chuckle.

This is a sci-fi novel with romantic elements. The story is about a woman who was physically and genetically modified without her permission. The modifications are extensive and include eyes, limbs and nanotechnology in the form of nanites flowing through her. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different and it’s not for the good of mankind. She has to fight not only for herself but the whole of mankind.

WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This week is my sixth time with the Weekend Writing Warriors. Here’s 8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

Xander sighed in exasperation. "How, Cam, just describe to me exactly how this was different?"
"Well…the first thing he did was chain my foot to the bed." She watched him momentarily before continuing. "That's when he touched me. I felt a sting when he touched me and I reacted." She swallowed hard and pulled her gown down to reveal the ugly red welt which had formed.
He immediately was next to her.

This is a sci-fi novel with romantic elements. It’s about a woman who was physically and genetically modified without her permission. The modifications are extensive and include eyes, limbs and nanotechnology in the form of nanites flowing through her. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different and it’s not for the good of mankind. WeWriWa ~ My Unpublished 8 ~ #8Sunday #LynnCrain

Hi everyone!

This is my first time ever with the Weekend Writing Warriors. I’m sharing my  8 sentences from one of my current WIPs, The Voyage of the Inara Marue.

I can't remember the last time I cried. Maybe it was the day they told me I would die. Maybe it was the day they told me I would become something no person had ever been before. Maybe…maybe…I should just forget about the when and worry about the why. Or maybe I shouldn't as I'm sure they would analyze the whole notion of me crying until there was nothing left to analyze.
But right now, I look at them through pried open eyes while my chin is in my chest, watching their every move with my enhanced eyesight and wonder if they even know or understand just what they have created. I don't even think they know I'm watching them. I know they are nervous…maybe that's not quite the right word…paranoid would be a better word choice.

This novel is a sci-fi with romantic elements and is about a woman who was modified without her permission. Her modifications are many, like limbs, eyes and nanites flowing through her body. She was built for a special mission but those in power at the military want her for something very different.
Hope you enjoyed my Sunday 8.
Thanks and see you next time!
